Read the PGI's latest official announcement regarding the possibility of physical attacks in MechWarrior Online:

Hopefully with the success of MW5 and Clans we might get an MWO 2 with a newer engine that can support Melee. It works wonderfully in MW5 and makes some mechs that seem under armed far more capable, and would further diversify playing clans vs inner sphere.
