With the recent nerfing of the mech, I am finding myself running out of ammo before the end of the match. I am currently running the 4 x 6srm and 2 x 2srm build. I was wondering if it would be doable to remove 2 of the srm6's and put in 2 srm4's. This would free up a ton and I could put in another ton of ammo.

Is it a viable build or should I just suck it up and run out of ammo every match with the original build?

Well, at that point, it's best to just go down to an SRM4 build; slightly better max dps for the same alpha. You could also pop in an ERSL or ERML as a supplementary weapon, but for raw splat, I'd recommend pulling down to all SRM4s, rather than take fewer shots.

6 SRM4s triggers ghost heat, unlike OP's weird build - which might be more heat efficient.

Oh, yeah, you're right. Herp-dee-derp. I'd probably go down to the 2x6/4/2 arrangement simply to avoid having to ripple-fire, then. That'll give you a respectable 1920 damage in ammunition, or you could keep the 1440 and go for an SPL for knife-fighting and backup - optimal range is only 160m, but in that range it increases your DPS by 25%, should you need to fight close-in.
