Modernized control scheme gives significant manueverability advantages and has unisightly animations./p>
In the first following video, the Viper moves in and out of cover 3 times in Classic control mode. In the second, it does the same in Modernized control mode. Modernized allows it to ignore deceleration and acceleration when changing directions, giving a significant dodging advantage. Notice that when the throttle bar is max, the mech can change direction as if inertia has disappeared.

This example is in third person to better show the animation and movement problem. In the first following video, the Viper runs evasively in Classic control mode where it’s movements are smooth and weighty. In the second following video, it does the same in Modernized control mode where it looks bad, changing directions in a discreet chunky manner.
