The trees are too tall, they block out your vision and even covers up your thermals. On certain spots, the trees don't even clip onto the ground and are instead hovering several feet above the air, completely blocking important sightlines, you cant even use machineguns or other weapons to knock them down either, you have to physically expose yourself out in the open and run them over in order to do so.
The worst part about them is that they make stealth light mechs like a Locust PB nearly impossible to spot, as you can comfortably sit behind a tree and the heavies/assault mechs would not be able to even see you while you pelt them with machinegun fire from behind. Among the plethora of issues that plagues the map's overall design, the trees has to be one of the most problematic, I'd suggest getting rid of them entirely or switch them over to trees of reasonable sizes instead.

I agree completely. Right now, we have exactly the situation you mentioned. It sucks.
The trees are too much in the way anyway. If not removed, they should be objects that can be destroyed by any attack.
It's obnoxious to the point that I'm not sure if I want to put in a mod to remove the tree textures just for this map.
