Why is Luthien up for rotation EVERY SINGLE TIME? Seriously, can you dial it back to be like a normal map? If all we have to play is Luthien you may have finally found a way for me to quit this game.

you people forced me to put erlls on my atlas m. this is your fault. id have been happy to brawl, but nobody wanted to join in.

at least i didnt put lerms on it, saw a few people today who did. this is also your fault.

its not my first rodeo. my ability to get to t2 is dependent on what mechs i used. the erll atlas put me over though, which is totally not expected because ranged play is one of my weaker skills.

When we introduce a new map or make major changes to one, we artificially increase the weighting of the map to the point it shows up on every voting screen(or virtually every screen. RNG is a fickle mistress). We try to get as many eyes on it as possible to stress test it. Luthien came out and then had a lot of bug fixes so it’s still at the top. Once Feb patch hits it will go back to normal weighting.

I honestly feel like Luthien is one of the best brawl maps in recent history, and one of the best NASCAR maps as well. The key imho is just to wait a bit to let the long range traders do their thing (however ineffectual), then push in and raise hell. Depending on which side of the map, go low ground right, or mid level right, and you will have a 500+ point game even if you have an enemy that anticipates you. Same thing, even if you go left, as long as you have at least two others with you with reasonable builds (if you go left). Might not win, but you'll get up arrows (if that means something to you). I'll take it over the seemingly constant HPG, Canyon/Hybernal, fu@$ing River City, drops that I see most folks voting for, every time.

Luthien needs more than bug fixes, the design needs adjusting.

AS7-M stock load is bad for the current meta.

LPLx3 MPLx3 SRM4x4 works for me.

I may do a LPLx4 MPLx3 MRM40 (I have a stalker built like that, it does pretty well).

ETA and when I say "tested" I mean I plays QP and did not do well, over and over again.

really depends on what your team does. sometimes they will push headlong into the enemy, which gives brawlers a considerable breadth to operate. sometimes they climb the first hill and plant roots, anchoring the team. all maps are brawl maps when the team wants to brawl. nascar presents better opportunities for brawlers on this map, but the team has to do that.

but then again i can strip my atlas, put 5erlls on it, and out trade any erll boat on the map and use my superior armor to win said trades (the atlas-m also has masc, which spares considerable armor). while waiting for an opportunity to brawl yeilds results sometimes, the erll config yeilds results immediately. it does put you at a small disadvantage when dealing with light mechs, as erlls arent the best light killers in the game, compared to the 4 asrm6es anyway. but i find if you can land 3 clean shots the squirrels will run away and look for an easier target. sometimes they explode.

that was okay while luthien was fresh and new... but offloading QA work to the playerbase AND torturing us for months with having to play the same map over and over again is still shite

Luthien is a terrible map, very poorly designed. I get it's the first map by the new designer but it should be removed from the game and revised. It needs new ramps to move between different height levels, less silly trees and more hard cover to give a chance to slow movers that need to approach.

First off, I personally hate the mini map system like the other night Luthien was played 8 times in a row and I played all 8 matches its horrible game mechanics to put your player base through this for what 5? or 6 years now?

Talk to Russ ask him to go back to Random map selection and players just pick the game mode that is the system we had in MWO before it was changed to this boring repetitive mini map system.

Just take all the maps in MWO old and new and randomize them to never play the same map one after another also you could rename some of the older maps if you need to maybe players can once again learn all the maps MWO has to offer and have more fun per battle.

One more thing you all at PGI attained your goal of overpowering a lot of the weapons do you think you could reverse this trend and make the mechs more defensive and playable longer per battle? thanks for your time I hope you read this post.
