Hello everyone... :)

At some point in the past, it happens that I was watching someone's playthrough of the "MW5:Mercenaries" game and various elements within. During all of this, something caught my eyes, namely the "Double <weapon> Ammo" items which could be equipped for use. Over the past months, thoughts slowly worked their way through my mind about MWO not having them, and eventually it resulted in the creation now of this thread. :mellow:

That said, it seemed like only adding a "Double <weapon> Ammo" item alone would not be enough, particularly without giving it a little extra "MW5:Mercenaries" style of flavor. When someone takes into account all the situations where they can end up bouncing against tonnage limitations or coming in barely slightly under with nothing further to be done, it leaves the thought to add yet another option as well. :unsure:

My proposal of what to add is therefore as follows...
  • "<weapon> Ammo (2x)" — For those who have some space to spare, or are simply reworking Loadouts they were currently using, these bins will give you not merely double the Ammo for whatever particular Weapon which they correspond to, but they will also give you an additional small amount beyond the double Ammo amount point. After all, with their being 2 (Two!) Tons & 2 (Two!) Critical Slots for each, and that space being a much larger singular big bin with nothing in-between what Ammo happens to be there, then they should physically have the space for it, right? Obviously they would also have to receive somewhere around double the Health of a normal Ammo bin which you would usually equip, but would equally come with much higher risks should one of these be successfully detonated by Enemy Mechs during battle.
  • "<weapon> Ammo (1/4)" —These bins are meant for someone trying to make the best use of that final "1/4th (one-fourth, or "0.25", as in a quarter)"-Ton within their Mech's Weight when they have a few slots left, but no better way in which they can use it. Admittedly they will only give you 1/4th (one-fourth) the normal single-Ton Ammo amount for whatever particular Weapon which they correspond to, and in some cases less depending on where Ammo numbers could end up far too messy regarding game balance for easy upkeep. While these kind of small Ammo bins may still take a full Critical Slot for each, their physical space based on that lacking Tonnage means they will not have the space for much. These kind of mini-sized Ammo bins are only meant for squeezing inside those last Tonnage gaps which someone is trying to fill, and are nothing more than a minor Ammo bump for fighting with. As a matter of course, these would receive somewhere around 1/4th (one-fourth) the allotted Health for normal single-Ton Ammo bins which you would usually equip, but would equally have their own smaller risks even with containing less Ammo should one of these be successfully detonated by Enemy Mechs during battle.
...and it will likely be good etiquette & proper duty for me to make a poll so we can show PGI how a sample group of people stand on this matter. ^_^

Before my mind forgets mentioning this, the proposal posted here is simply a starting point and prelude to whatever would eventually be implemented within MWO's environment for use by players. You are therefore actively requested to not presume whatever is typed here would have been intended as some kind of hard-set configuration for use, because we all know that those within "The Cauldron" group (or whoever may make this a reality in the future) will need to make sure these are not imbalanced in any way. I'm simply the beginning of whatever path may lay ahead here, and I'm already sure that it will need fine-tuning to make everything work right! :o

So what do all of you think about this idea? Do these additional Ammo bins seem like something worth adding? Or is there something which I have massively missed about this matter? Please give this thread of mine your Votes & Opinions so that the discussion may begin! B)

That said, this is an idea meant for everyone to have the future enjoyment of, and I'm merely the launchpad for it.
