Is it just me or does this mech kinda suck? Using SRMs, you pepper the enemy over the entire body. Using 3 LRM5's you're lucky if you hit with 10 and unlucky if you hit with 5! Now, you might be thinking 'Missiles miss in combat because of movement' or what have you. Well, I am talking in the training grounds where the mechs aren't moving! I tried a 3 LRM5 build and out of 5 shots more missiles missed than hit! I had some missiles going straight up when I fired! One shot I had 5 missiles hit, 2 go straight up and the rest hitting around the targeted mech.

Then, again is it just me, or does it seem like the lasers fire for a longer time than they should? I'm talking 2 ER Med Lasers on the LRM build and 3 ER Med Lasers on the SRM build. They all seem to fire for a long time. You might be thinking now that there are nodes you can take to shorten the fire time. I had all the proper nodes selected for both laser duration and all the missile nodes.

I don't really have any comments on the other new clan mechs as I don't play heavies and assaults that much. I prefer fast, nimble mechs to slow and plodding.

The missile thing is less a Flea thing and moreso a Clan SRM spread issue. The mech is getting buffed with -20% spread in a week. It will also get a +10% heat dissipation quirk.

Generally the two meta builds atm are 4 Heavy Smalls and 3 SRM4 or 4 MPL. 4 ERML is anemic with neither the alpha of 4 HML or the dps of 4 MPL.

Clan missiles have higher spread than IS missiles because they weigh literally half of what IS missiles do. Clan lasers also have much longer burn durations because they deal significantly higher total damage and the burntime is one of the things that keeps them in check.

The Clan Flea carries the same or better firepower as Sphere light 'Mechs half again its weight. You can do triple SRM-4s with a set of either heavy small lasers for Maximum Keister Gnawing or micro pulse lasers for Anti-Light Dogfighting. Both options bring firepower that normally needs an Osiris or bigger to successfully cram into a sphere 'Mech, and the Flea is much faster and has the benefit of the Flea's tiny janky hitboxes.

The Wolf's Dragoons 'Mechs as a general whole are probably some of the gnarliest bastiches to be released in a long time. The Archer is a monster, the Flea is one of the strongest options available in the bottom half of the lightweight bracket for the Clans, and the Stalker does Stalker things but with Clan guns. Only the Nightstar is kinda sketchy, and even the Nightstar is better than half the Legends released in the last year-odd.

Iirc Missiles act wonky in the training grounds. Don't know if that ever got fixed.

As the others said, the weapons for clans act differently than IS.
I put 98 games in it and based on my stats I have about the same stats as my Fire Ant, i.e the worst Flea.
It's kind of funny, it is like being locked in a hyperbolic time chamber using that thing for so long. Stopped and went back to my R5K and FLE-17 and knocked out some great games in them.
The quirk buffs might make it decent. Maybe it'll make heavy small with SRM builds a bit more viable. Right now it's too much of a trade off vs other 20 tonners.
But I got what I wanted, another Flea variant so I can't complain. It's still fun but I feel handicapped in it.

Very true. That Archer with 4LRM20 and 4ERML is nuts. Plenty of speed and ECM means this thing can get a line on something and chain LRMs into it like nobody's business. If someone brings a NARC to the party it is even meaner.

For the Nightstar I have run 4ERLL and 2UAC10. Do the chain fire special on the ERLL to avoid the ghost heat while you dump a double load of UAC10 into the target. I tried 2HAG20 but came back to the UAC10s.

The Stalker can go energy crazy of take 4LRM15 with 6ERML.
