Started experiencing a rash of server fails over the last 6 hours. Both from the log in screen and in game DCS.

I mean, it happens from time to time. Could be a server issue, or your ISP, or something in-between.

I've been playing a long time, I wouldn't be posting about it here if it was in the normal realm. Just got booted from a match 3 times along with two other guys, and we were all still able to hear chat and talk while when we got sent back to the login screen, sure sign it happening on PGI's end.

More importantly with the support staff gutted by PGI in recent months, and them leaning on the Cauldron discord for most community flakking its VERY IMPORTANT that episodes like this are mentioned and kept high on the post lists here and on Reddit so PGI can find out. They have very few staff dedicated to MWO at this poiont so its very easy for them to miss it.

So if we want server and infrastructure probelms to be addressed we have to do our part to make the noise so they can know.

.....wat

There is only one person from PGI even involved with that discord.

You know, if you're having issues, whining on the forums is the least likely to get a solution to your problem, messaging support is your best choice like is true for really any product.

Why is it that you added all this extra info here, that should have been in your original post?

"Oh I've had some server fails..." Could you be more generic?

That said, it's still something that happens from time to time.

Do you use any mods?

  • Your location, city/state or country?
  • ISP ?
  • All game servers?
  • And to be clear, when in a drop, you still have a connection to the authentication server in NA (Canada)
    • Being sent to the log in but able to speak via game VOIP indicates you all lost connectivity with the authentication server in NA but not the game server.
  • Restart router/modem, ie unplug for 30secs then plug back in. Clear their memory and if/when ISP updates the modem, a reboot is sometimes necessary if the update did not take hold properly.
  • Also if the Gateway (router/modem combo) or router is owned by ISP, any updates can also charge any built-in software internet security settings. Disabling it for testing is one step that can be taken to check. Disabling that piece does not disable the NAT (hardware portion of the router/gateway).
  • Flush DNS and change DNS from ISP to Google/etc
  • If not using a VPN, test with a VPN, even a few free ones, as there may be a problematic router system between your ISP and PGI network. The VPN has the potential to change the pathway your connection takes.
  • You mentioned other teammates. If they are on the same ISP/region, and if there is a problematic issue with ISP or the pathway you all take to get to the NA.
  • If the issue was with PGI servers/their internet network, the forums would be full of threads or a few huge threads.

When there is a big influx of players, happens durring events, and more so on the weekends the servers connection start to bend a little if not a lot.
