When a mech has a machine gun ROF quirk, does it automatically work each time you shoot? Or does it take some time to "up to speed"?
I ask because sometimes I hear the guns go into "high speed" mode, so to speak. Like I am shooting, shooting, then all of a sudden, they start sounding like they are speeding up.
But it does not always happen.
Anyone?

The RoF quirk is always on. Probably just a bug you're hearing.

sounds more like a simple audio bug. it happens sometimes even without RoT quirks, mostly when you are running a large number of them (my Crusader Hero that i have 8 MGs on always sounds a bit off when i am blazing away with them for longer periods.)
remember that MGs are like Lasers in that they are actually hit scan weapons. so year tracers for instance are just there for looks and nothing to really do with how they work mechanicly. (i think they did it that way because the engine couldn't handle them if they had to calculate each bullet especially with how many MGs some mechs can field. don't quote me on that though as i am not certain on the reasoning for making MGs hit scan)

That happens to me almost every time I have MGs on my mech. It doesn't effect RoF though. It's just a sound bug.
