A heads up on config files.... don't just take someone's file whether it's Geeram's or Meep's. The point of the cfg file is to optimize your own computer's performance. For example, Geeram's is optimized for long range comp which draws objects out to 2000m. This is a definite performance/FPS tank.

I helped one guy optimize his config and reducing the draw distance alone doubled his frames. I generally don't recommend people simply take others' files.

Yep my config preset is explicitly done for streamers wanting maximum detail at the expense of performance. But it never hurts to try to see how it runs. It's also completely granular so you can adjust them on your own to fit your own needs.

to be fair there are so few true warriors in this game. people play in the most passive aggressive way possible. if this is their ideal power fantasy i shudder to think how their actual lives are. i just want to be able to see the thing thats shooting me. especially as i get old and my vision gets worse. i want to see the black stealth thanny camped out on the back wall on mining collective, if i have to tweak some settings to do that i will. you dont even need a user.cfg to do that.
