As I mentioned, I had terrible experience with non meta cyclops. I always thought, they extremely strong, but looks like its only about meta ballistic builds with torso weapons.

I tried 3:
CP-10-Q - missiles oriented, this one ok, though you dont see srm build in the game, right?

CP-10-Z
and
CP-11-P

Both weren't good, I found them unpleasant to play. You know, when you shooting from low arms, you miss a lot, and hit not target, but objects below. Weak armor and low mount energy weapons in arms. You cant snipe, so only middle and brawl. But they not particular fast (like zeus) or damage absorb (like highlander or even victor).

Superb censors and ECM on one model cant help.

So, such non meta cyclops need some assault class armor for brawl.

Its commander mech, isn't it?

If you're playing them as a bootleg Atlas, then yeah, they're terrible, almost everything it could do is better on the Atlas down to the ECM variant. Hey, even the IS Orion is generally better.
They're a lot better when you actually put on an XL and play them like a really big heavy, and then you'd also notice the bad decel for how fast it could go. And how it still feels like a worse IS Orion.

Anyway yeah, no one has really bothered buffing them and the only one anyone cares about the Cyclops for is the 4UAC5 Sleipnir and whatnots like the occasional Arges maybe.

you can say this about a lot of filler variants. especially on chassis with strong meta variants, there is always a low end model that is completely useless.

Man what I'd do to turn the Black Lanner into something that's competitively viable. 11.5 tons of weapon on the fattest chicken legs in the game is such a bad mix for what's supposed to be a faster JJ-free Shadow Cat.

I find them all to be decent 'heavy' mechs, but then again i'm not in T1.

Good hunting,

I've been using Cyclops lately and the 10-Q is quite good as a TBbort!
If you're going to use Cyclops as a meta, just enhance the sensor range, acquisition time, and vibration sensor.
And it's not inferior to the others in terms of armament.
Frankly, it would be difficult to give all of them opportunities and roles in a game with so many variants.
