flamers are good vs x-pulse boats, but very situational....

That is kind of the reason I think it needs a little change, its too situational and getting a decent score is too hard, and you have to have your timing down to an art to really use them, and even then its your 90m vs their large lasers...only in solaris or close quarter type stages do you have a chance. 0.3 Damage, 2 Heat damage, 150m, plus maybe 6 hsl is alot better for those hit by them in reaction time, than the 4.5 heat damage they have now, and its better on the user too, low accuracy types would not be able to get away with quickly overheating an enemy mech if the heat damage is toned down since its pvp type game. If no way to fix scoring, this would be the only other way.

Hello,

there s a bug with the missiles on the blacklanner E, with the 400% velocity they go so fast that they don't have time to fall down on the target...I tried with a cicada placed at more than 800m, after more than 1000 missiles sent it was barely at 85%...another test with a Catapult placed at 350m, the missiles always fall behind the mech and 0 damage at the end

Yeah, that quirk was probably there for SRMs - with lock-on missiles, tracking strength doesn't increase with velocity. Lock-on missiles like LRMs, ATMs, and TBMs all have a "tracking strength." This means how often the missiles change direction, and how much they can change. With normal tracking strength, but five times the velocity (800m/s before skills,) missiles are overshooting their targets at most - if not all - ranges. So it's not exactly a bug - just an undesirable side effect of a massive quirk bonus.

You know when you use a mushroom boost at the wrong time playing MarioKart, and take a curve at Mach Ludicrous - shooting yourself entirely off the track? Well, your LRMs are doing that with the Lanner right now. The thing is, I think tracking strength is part of LRM balance, and altering it for the Lanner might screw things up - so it may be interesting to see what they do about this.

I expect something will be done to address it next patch, but that's just my guess.

The Gauszilla I linked has quad Gauss, which is effectively heatless. Plus your "easy" solution is literally impossible with the game's engine - disregarding the embarrassingly bad claim that a single weapon combo should "counter" any 'mech with high-heat weapons.

It was a game engine issue, actually. The way CryEngine wanted to work melee wasn't compatible somehow with how the rest of the game was set up otherwise. It wasn't feasible to tear down the entire game to try again, and they couldn't get enough help from CryTek to fix it. Now, however it's a programming resource issue. Enad isn't allocating software engineers to a game this old, so we're stuck with what we have, in broad strokes.

Every time someone comes up with a "simple" solution to things like melee and collisions, it's like telling the cast of Gilligan's Island that they "simply" need to drive back to the mainland and buy the parts to fix their boat from the hardware store.

It's as simple as splitting the general missile velocity partially into SRM velocity, so missile velocity +50% and +350% SRM velocity for example, which allows the SRMs to have its +400% velocity, not too different from AWS-8V's MRMs save for the range.

"Simple" is my second least-favorite term on these forums, after "promises."

Yeah, just like how the push for "simple and readable" quirk lists got us this sort of problem in the first place.

Unintended consequences are going to be more abundant with more individual quirk values, if anything.

And it's not like they don't still have individual weapon quirks, and etc. I don't think you can count this one thing as an inherent problem of the practice.
