Hi has anyone been getting lag spikes recently? I'm talking 3-4 weeks now. Everything was fine before then and I don't know what happened but I'll be playing fine then everyone starts running in place, then I get zipped somewhere else on the map and I'm halved or dead. I checked with my ISP and they said everything looks fine on their end so I'm just wondering if it's a general issue with other people.

I get horrible lag spikes, where at times I warp around the map. One time I was running a missile boat and tried to fire bank 1 and nothing happened. I thought my mouse button might be going out. I fired bank 2 and both banks then fired causing me to overheat and die. I don`t remember the specifics of the match but lag took me out for sure.

Hey thanks for replying. Can you say when this occurred please?

This was back when the bane came out and I was working on the rewards. It wasn`t recent though I am still warping at times and witnessing other people warping.

Lag spikes, running in place, etc is either a temp lost of connectivity to the game servers, including losing game packets
- All game servers?
- General location?
- ISP?
- Reboot Routers and Modems? Usually unplug for 30secs then plug back in.
- Check the software security settings on gateway (combo modem/router)/router.
- ISP may have sent an update to the gateway, changing the software security settings
- Power settings set to Max Performance?
- DNS Flush
- VPN being used - changed server? If not using a VPN, try using a VPN, even a free one as a temporary work around/troubleshooting to see if it resolves the issue.
- Using a VPN has the potential to help the user bypass a problematic router system your connection may be taking to reach the servers.
- Try another connection for troubleshooting such as using your smartphone as a hotspot and go through your mobile network instead of your ISP network.

Many online games use udp to pass information back and forth so you might lose some packets going either way so pgi servers have to fill in the blanks, which results in missing mouse clicks, warping, unknown damage appearing on your mech among other issues.

I get that. I used to work for an ISP in my country. I did everything you mentioned. The issue is everything was running fine for a long time and then it just started happening for a couple weeks back. It seemed to have evened out for the moment. I assume, based on fx's reply, it had something to do with the Bane launch. I'll keep monitoring it.
