Getting anoyed that my tier goes down with a Matchscore of 390 damage done 412 .
The match was lost.
My Matchscore was 3th in my group 9th overall and still i get a negative.
This was playing in a light mech .
Other matches i'm 12th but we won and get a plus on my tier while i played really bad.

You can watch this fan video:
Imagine it as a list of 24 players, sorted according to their Match Score (the players of the victorious team get a small bonus) after the game - from the player with the highest Match Score descending to the player with the lowest Match Score. The upper 12 'Mechs get the green arrow, the lower half of the list gets the red arrow. The higher you are among the "green" 'Mechs, the higher is your PSR raise. The same is true for the "red" Mechs - in the negative sense, of course. The lower you are in that imaginary list, the greater your PSR fall.

So the next time, when you will feel that you lost your PSR unfairly and that "This whole tier stuff is broken", post both the Mission Summary Team Table and the Mission Summary Player Table, please.
The basic idea behind PSR is that your performace is compared with the performance of other (both friendly and enemy) players. Without seeing those post-mission tables, there is not much to discuss.

Got to be one of the top 3 scores on the team durring a loss in order to tier up. Also, you have to watch teh team damage, including the running into one another at the beginning round. 1 point of team damage, durring a loss, can lose you the tier up, if the other 3 had none.

individual games are not relevant. for every hard fought game with a red arrow you get 4 more stomps where you dont even bother to check which way the arrow went.

Besides the video, this has been discussed many times on the forums. That up/down arrow is based on if you earned any PSR points or lost PSR points, or broke even while being rated against the other 23 players in that match. And there is a formulary to it, all you need is a screenshot of the the overall match scores.
At minimum you most likely lost 1 PSR point, and may have been a few increments of breaking even. We have calculated a few games for a few players who were throwing hissy fits, and all that down arrow for them was the loss of 1 PSR pt. To show how drastic, for that player to break even would have required some team players to have had their match score to be reduced by a total 75 points.
And damage points are covet that number to approximately 45%ish MS points, so 100 damage = 45 MS pts, or in your case 412 dmg converts to 185.4 MS pts. Any team damage would subtract from that amount.

The thing it comes to is the matchmaker as LordNothing says , with the stomps .
It seems most days i get the shorter straw , i can do brillianty but my team sucks and gets stomp .
You look at the counter and see there are already half of youre team dead in minutes .
So it will be a negative again .

Not necessarily.
It is much better to keep fighting than throwing your hands in the air and resigning.
Even if you are on the losing team, you can still get the green arrow and earn the PSR rise.
Check this pair of screenshots, please:

When I saw that my team was falling apart, I did not resign and decided to try to do something.
Thus, I got the green arrow.

You are in a 'Mech and you can still fight.

If you give up, you can be surely expect that red arrow of the PSR loss.
If you keep fighting, then you can still hope to get the green arrow or at least mitigate your PSR loss.
But of course, that is just me.

i get more green arrows on losses frankly because i tend to fight till i cant. dying unnecessarily early is a good way to get a red arrow.
