No, you are not allowed to inject third-party files into the MWO installation directory or modify files in the MWO installation directory (unless explicitly listed).

Yes, technically the engines already existed but weren't used before. We're turning them on to give options for the TSP Urbie IIC. I believe with its max engine and XL, it'll have about 17.5 tons of loadout space.

The TSP mechs are uniquely not made by the cauldron but by a committee of experienced comp players (but are quirked by the cauldron). There was a community wide event this year where one of the mechs (either a medium or heavy) would be voted in by community wide votes. The Battlemech Lanner won. I believe the designer's concept was a very mobile big gun medium mech at the top end of the weight range.

So does that mean ISXL 60-95 are getting added too or is it solely STD and cXL?
Too bad none of the Urbies have even anywhere as much quirks as the IS Hunchback to make going that slow worthwhile.

Anyway, the TSPs being made by "a commitee of experienced players" explains so much about why they're mostly just hardpoint bloat or high weapon mount abuser vehicles. Which is saying more on a lack of interest in any other playstyle you ask me.
The MASC Atlas was pretty funny though.

Looking forward to seeing my legs explode even better thanks to leg-seeking missiles.

ATMs don't even aim for the legs, they aim for the center mass/hips at lowest and getting hit by them past 500m is an error on the target's part.
Not to mention the TBM (which also works similarly) lower arc change means lower likelihood for it to stray towards hitting legs.
It takes having high spread as LRMs do and its indirect fire arc outside of streak style random targeting for them to start getting leg hits.

So yes, continue only having like 50-60 armor on assault legs as usual because it's easy to hide legs behind cover/no one aims for them and the free tonnage is such an important advantage.

What does the arc height have to do with missiles targeting legs?

"Just visual mods" are typically ones that will get you banned, unless it's LESS useful than the default in game. There is a mod for a "primitive HUD" for example.

HTAL armor displays which are more detailed than the default paperdoll are an example of more detail and an advantage. A modified reticule (because the current one takes of a lot of space compared to most shooters) is seen as an advantage.

There's a reason why PGI takes the stance it does in ToS. Mod at your own risk, don't cry when you get banned for it. Navid is 100% on the ball with what he said.

Was there any specific reason HTAL was not the default readout to begin with?

I would suggest you ask someone from PGI about the 15 year old design decision. No clue.

I could not see where in the notes they put the Black Knight rescale announcement? Surely it is has been rescaled by now.

My understanding is we are making it about 3% larger from the discussions?

If i had to guess it'd be because tabletop and previous games used the paperdoll system

Previous games also had HTAL as an alternative function – a toggle – that I happen to know a fair number of people used, at least if YouTube footage of those older games is anything to go off of. The paper doll was always the default setting, though, at least as far as I know, having played almost every game in the series up to this point.

Kind of always preferred the paper doll anyway...

But yes, it would be wise to ask PGI themselves why that feature was dropped from the series from this game onward, assuming anyone involved in that decision is still around.

So are Cauldron members (of which are half JGx) allowed to participate in the tournament? If so, sounds like a big conflict of interests to me. You are part of the machine churning out content. You should NOT be allowed to compete for money. While I have a huge problem with whom is in the Cauldron I'm willing to let that slide.

Compromised Judgement:

Biased decisions that prioritize personal gain within an organization.

If you are competing then you are prioritizing for personal gain. Even if you swear to me that the mechs you have almost full control of creative development over have not been quirked for personal use is irrelevant. If you are directly involved in the creative process then why is it ok for you to compete for money? That should be the price you pay for being in that process. You do NOT get to compete. This is the literal definition of conflict of interests. How do I know that your "Benevolent Overlords"? How do I know that? I don't. And most people don't. I will put my trust into the people who actually made the game to begin with. I will not put my trust in quasi-employees who get to DIRECTLY direct the path that the game takes. Nobody should. And you friggin' know it. So if you have ANY shred of honor or decency you should decline to compete for money. You should decline participating in any form in the Tournament.

You seem rather emotionally invested. Perhaps it is best if you sit this one out.

Can we get back to the planned Black Knight rescale? Can anyone confirm it was 5% larger?

The one in the discussion where it gets about 7% larger, with bigger CT hitbox, to better represent TT values?
