Hey, all.

I don't post much, nor do I communicate on comms during open matches. I just wanted to put my two cents on MWO game play and what I am doing here in the first place.

I have plenty of reasons why I both love and hate MWO. I have been busy offline and have been mostly inactive. Recently, I had to reformat and after reinstalling MWO, I wanted to screw around a bit in the servers. Really, I only wanted to see if my little rig was running correctly and to see what's happening in the game.

I am an old guy, a grizzled and cagey veteran of this MW franchise. If you see me in a game, you should know I am not looking for unsolicited advice on how to play. I was part of a championship team online before most of you were old enough to pick up a Game Boy, let alone before you were born.

I don't want to go on a rant but there is a real issue here of who plays and how they play. All of that is not important to me. I just show up to take a break from life and have a bit of fun. I guess I came back to MWO to see if I still "got it" and can compete with the rest of you. As in: GL & HF.

The thing I guess I dislike the most is MWO is now the "speed kills" kind of game. Unlike previous iterations of MW, the small mechs seem to have a big advantage. It's not necessarily wrong but quite a bit different from the old days. Kinda like the countries with better drones and hacks can take down countries with big and expensive military hardware.

Just two cents.

Well said, there is a reason the player base is down to 600 players at peak hours. Hope to see you in a better game.

The game is very much faster. Half of the maps if you disconnect on lobby drop ur dead pretty dang quick. I started timing myself to clear the MS troubleshooting and log back in which turned out to be fruitless in PUG. One of the coolest things about MWO is the ability to compete on a mostly even playing field for anyone. Played goofy legged halfback on the pitch so long ago. Here in this Battle-tech simulation I can still run!
