Hello all,

Recently I noticed a flashing icon at the bottom of the window. I assumed it was a friend request, but when I clicked on it, it was a request to join a unit. As of now it is pending since I don't know what to do.

I am more of a solo player so joining a unit is a rather large step for me. I wanted to research the unit I was being asked to join but didn't see an obvious way to start. Clicking on the request just gives me 'accept' or 'decline.'

Any suggestion or advice is welcome. Also, at first I was going to post the name the pilot making the offer to get a feel about how the community feels about the requesting unit but decided that it really doesn't matter if I decide to join said unit.

Thank you in advance,

Gotta Go

Accept it, if you wish. You can leave it at any time, with just one mouse click.

Joining a unit at this point in the game is just a way to group up wiht 3 other people in a four man group in quick play.

Back when faction play was more played units could earn stuff in faction play... and even have their unit tags displayed on ' conquered planets'

The social system in this game is unfortunately rudimentary. The UI isn't great for chatting within the game, so it's hard to chat and socialize while we play. So there's a number of reasons that unit's officer shot you an invite: they might have been impressed with your play in some way, or they might have been trying to expand their own unit and figured it couldn't hurt to shoot you an invite - or anything in between. Some units will offer you practice and skills training; some will provide a place to socialize and chat over Discord or whatever while you play; and some will just be a casual group that barely interacts - you'll probably need to join up to see which it is, and if they fit your style.

What's the unit's name?
