Not unless you buy things, anyway; the bonus redeems do count, so if you do rack up enough bonus redeems to have 200 bags right away, you can in fact get the other 200 through playing during phase 1.

Two questions for the grown-ups at PGI :

1) What is a mini battle pass? Never-mind, I figured it out.

2) If one chooses a Legendary that one already owns, does one still get the battle pass? (I ask because I mistakenly bought two Howls and only got one battle pass. I ended up keeping them both anyway cuz they're still good mechs). Never-mind, I figured it out.

I haven't done an event like this before so if I open the loot bag will I ruin my chances for the last prize secondly do i have to use the the 200 loot bags by the end of phase 1

So from the choice. I can have
1 Lightmech
1 Heavy mech
1 Assault Mech
1 Legendary Mech Pack (Including the Mech inside regardless the class that I choose)

So I can have 2 Assault (In this case I choose Assault for legend mech) right?

No, you can open them right now. The relevant number for receiving those 'Mech prizes is the number of Loot Bags that you have received, not the number of Loot bags that you have opened.

Well, if you wish not to open those Loot bags right now and wait for some later time, you can do that, of course. But it has no influence on anything. Just remember that the deadline to open your Loot bags is 21. X. 2025.

you can if you bought enough new mech packs. as usual the two ledgends i bought recently count for naught. to add injury to insult, i could have got one for free and saved $15 bucks.

Well, of course you can.

But, you know, for me the point of completing any MWO event is to complete those partial steps, if possible. What is the point of the event if you simply log in two minutes after the event begins, unlock all Loot bags and collect all 'Mech Prizes (and other Prizes) and that's all?

But of course, everybody is free to do what he pleases.

Well, I guess it is just me.

I can give you one example: In MechCommander 2 my first employer was the Lyran Alliance, which meant that I could have had bought as many Zeus and Atlas BattleMechs as I wanted and go through the rest of the game without breaking sweat. But I did not, because that would be no fun for me. I used only salvaged enemy 'Mechs.

Or take MechWarrior 4: Mercenaries. Selecting the Wolf's Dragoons as my patron gave me early access to ClanTech in the game. But I simply would not enjoyed buying Madcats, Mad Cats Mk.II or Daishis and waltzing through the game. Again, I went with salvaged 'Mechs.

And when it comes to MWO, I simply prefer completing events the more difficult way, i.e actually playing it and completing it in the game.

you still tend to complete your loot bags even if you get all the unlocks early though, because free stuff.

The News Post had been Adjusted - The first 3 Pick a Prize are Heroes (or legends that have been made into Heroes) and the Final Pick a Prize is a Full Legend * again these are limited based on release Dates and MC availability.

The Final Pick a Prize does include Battle Pass Access so Yes it is a big prize
