The quick summary: Introduction of seasons into the MWO territories, Preferably four seasons, but could start out with two seasons obviously being opposite from what the current map is, in which the current roster of selected maps (or all maps) rotate through the seasons.
Imagine Alpine Peaks going through a thaw season with off placed melting effects of ugly mud, broken up ice or ice drifts sliding down the mountain that have just completely destroyed the terrain and then a growth season of trees and foliage and perhaps running water from melted ice and snow, then it freezes back up again? the variation of game play would be noticeably dynamic.
Adding snow drifts and unexpected seasonal elements into the Mining Collective would absolutely break the routine of some playing strategies IMO. Terra Therma with crazy snow drifts among the lava causing fog banks from entirely too much moisture reacting with it?
And just like seasons come once a year, so would that style of map for that time of year however the time frame of the rotation of seasons was decided.
The larger maps could almost present a 50/50 changeover scenario where the new season is moving into the map and you get a little bit of both before it completely converts over to the opposite season?
If I'm not mistaken we used to have the rotation of the time of day that followed the lighting effects? Just that dynamic alone was enough to make it memorable.
I've been curious for some time if MWO is going to adopt Unreal Engine in the future? I know that's quite the ordeal, but that being said, I'm fluent in CryEngine and Unreal and I'd be more than happy to volunteer some time to present added season for any chosen map. I'll even offer a completed season conversion if given the proper permissions. I don't say that lightly.
