Since long time ago, I play the game for events, I have an stable +60 fps constant but when I retaked it for this summer event (2025), I notice that now I having a random fps drop to 44 constant fps for a few minutes (not only playing but in menu too, it's like the game lock the fps to 44 for a while) and past that time, the fps up to normal fps again, normally restarting the PC solve it but its anoying having this random fps drop problem. The last event I played normally was... May? maybe... then I parked the game (I don't unninstall it) until the next event (summer) and from now I having this anoying problem. Someone already suffer a problem like this with solution? Thx

Some maps have places, where you get huge fps drop. I know Terma and Tourmaline at least.

flush your shader cache. in situations where you suddenly lose a lot of performance, its usually because a game/driver update broke your shaders.

Is not in a particular map, as I said, is the whole game locked the fps at 44 constant, I mean, for example, I am in main menu, just doing nothing in particular, and then the drop come and stay there few minutes, even if I am going to play and chage map, the fps keep lock at 44 until pass a little time and then up to +60 fps again, its just very random.

if you are using the stand alone client you can use the repair tool, just be sure to go to options and be sure clean shaders is checked.

idk how to do this on steam, i think you need to find the shader folder and delete it, but i dont use steam and ive never had to do that.

Not sure about your particular problem but a quick fps tip:

When launching the game, make sure you have no twitch stream open, I'd even close the browser completely and any additional apps using bandwidth (Utorrent etc.). Once the game is up and running you can reopen twitch. Your frame time will be much better in my experience.

Also Winkey+Shift+Crtl+B will reset your graphic driver

I already tested erasing both shader files but the game can't run, just say that there are missing files so I restored both (I am using Steam version)

  • Also, Power settings set to High Performance?
  • Full Windowed Mode or Full Screen? Switch to full Windowed Mode.
  • And with Steam, turn off Hardware Acceleration.
  • And when deleting the Shader Folder, be completely logged out of the game.

There isn't a "shader folder", there are some files called "shadercache, shadercachestartup, shaders and shadersbin", all of then are .pak and are in "engine" folder:

/MechWarrior Online/Engine/shaders.pak files

Those were the files I tried to delete (well, actually I just move them to another folder to test firstly) but without them, the game can't start.

There isn't any other folder called "shader"

There is. But it's not located in the installation folder. See the previously provided link

I found it in the system user folder, I delete it but the game still dropping the fps, I notice in another game that it suffered the same problem but in that other case it was only in a few seconds after maximize, so I figure that should be a problem between my monitor and / or the graphic driver or even maybe the Steam overlay (it was reported that Steam overlay is causing driver crashes after a update in some point between May or Juny if you have hardware aceleration on for overlay in Steam parameters I was having that problem that aparently was solved after switch hardwared aceleration off) so I tried to switch full screen to full screen windowed and, after a few hours playing, I didn't notice more fps drops right now.
