Hello all,

So I finally made my choices:

Hunchback Gridiron for the Gauss quirks.

Grand Summoner Talon for the omni pods.

Atlas Warlord, because, well, it's an Atlas Warlord. Posted Image

Supernova Seraph because I didn't have that one yet.

Good hunting,

the Grid iron is a fun mech. equip her with an S.B. Guass with a few MLs for targeting those weakened components when things get close and have at it. that Guass shotgun will be firing nearly as fast as an LBX-10 maybe faster (its been a while since i played mine)

Yup, the S.B. Gauss is a ton of fun, I already have one and it performed well during the last Solaris 7 event.

for my Marauder-Blight i was thinking something like a 2 RAC/5, 1 L-AC/5, 2 ML travesty or 2 LBX-10 instead of the RAC. not because either would be good or meta but because the oddity sounds like fun. then again 5 L-AC/2s and 2 L-PPCs would be funny if nothing else.

I redeemed them all, need to reequip them once...
Nova Breaker, most probably SRM6s + MedPLazorz combo...
Grand Summoner Talon, not sure yet but the UAC5s + ATM combo sound a lot of fun...
Kasai with 3xLRM15s + 4xPlasmas
Legendary Warlord, 2xHGauss + dunno... Pancakes?

Yes, all chosen for fun 'cause that's how I roll, girlz-n-boiz!

for my assault i went with the Stalker-War Emu (i sort of like the stalkers as the 3FB was the first free mech i ever got and is still my preferred stalker). for my War Emu i kept it mostly the same just shifted from regular AC/5s to Lights and the MLs to ER models using the extra tonnage to raise the engine size and add a few more double heat sinks.

--and yes fun is the only reason to select any mech.

I picked these.
Spoiler

-Rival: "Best performing medium in the game" metrics aside, I'm just running it with stuff like LPL+ERML+LMG with SSRM6 because MASC DPS build sounded funnier over the boring cookie cutter PPC+APG poptart everyone always run on it.
-Warrant: Finishing my TBR collection, got all of them to 91 through playing them on So8 already instead of just the copy-paste ECM TBR build too.
-UV: Ran on So8 with 4C-UAC5 rather than anything like slapping the pods on DWF-C just for the 8AC2+ECM build everyone keeps running to farm with.
-Scaleshot: Some friend of mine kept nagging me to "play an actual SRM boat and learn to lead shots" I then run it with SRM24+ERML rather than SRM28.

By the way, picking Grid Iron is kind of a waste you ask me since RGH-2A does its thing except better because it has the option for 2gauss.

Warlord is just Fafnir loadout except better hitpoints, hardpoints, engine limit, agility, a lot of things really, which makes it a really boring pick, and sounds like something you'd choose because you watched some people do really well on it thanks to its powercreep, rather than anything more interesting.

Talon is pretty whatever, after looking at how someone allowed SMN-P to get added into the game, it in comparison is rather mediocre.

And Seraph in this post-Stone Rhino world is also whatever.

Except for the Seraph, I had all the others already so I just went for what was fun, not necessariy the most effective. It is a game after all.

exactly Conky, fun trumps all

lastly for my Legendary pack i went with the Argent (only one that the the battle pass stuff even remotely interested me)

for that i got two builds in mind (rough ideas at the moment). Mostly its all on if i want that mid range punch or if i want some longer range capability.

KGC-A(LGD) (4 L-AC/5s (5t ammo), 3 ER LLs, running an LE-350 with 6 DHS, ECM, and Endo)

A@j820c1|i^|i^|]?|i^|`g|i^p;1|e@|^<2|i^|]?q;1|e@|]?|i^r41|e@s41|e@t41|KP|KPu41|KP|KPv<0|KPw909090

or

KGC-A(LGD) (2 UAC/10s (6t ammo), 5 ER MLs running an LE-360 with 6 DHS, ECM, and Endo)

A@j820c1|i^|i^|i^|i^|F@|bgp;1|^<2|N@|F@q;1|N@|F@|7Pr41|F@|i^s41|F@|i^t<1|7P|7Pu<1|7P|7Pv<0|7Pw909090

(though i did toy with the idea of putting a TC in the second one instead of the extra ton of ammo.)

a LOT of my choices are because i have been playing this game for a long time and have 145 mechs in my stable (with only a couple being duplicates as i tend to sell any free mechs i get that i already have to free up the mechbay slot). there is also the fact that i play exclusively IS mechs. can't remember if the Urbi IIC pack was on the list for legendary or not as those are the only Clan mechs that i even think about (mostly because Urbies are the only Light mech i tend to play). so yeah my choices in the end were.....

Light/Medium-- Griffon-Ares
Heavy-- Marauder-Blight
Assault-- Stalker-War Emu
Legendary-- King Crab-Argent

It's more about the lack of originality (you're certainly not going to run something like 2LB10+MRM+6ERML on the Warlord over just the same cookie cutter 2LB20+SNPPC that everyone runs on it) or ignorance to alternatives (RGH-2A to Grid Iron).

Just like how the post above has an LE King Crab-Argent build that ends up just playing like a Fafnir because people are allergic to IS XL Assaults apparently.

the king crabs geometry makes running an XL almost suicidal. wide as a barn door and can't really twist well. the only IS mechs i put XLs on are my LRM/Tbolt mechs. i would rather be able to continue fighting after loosing a torso than not.

with your warlord example i would much more likely run the mixed build than the PPC one

Sounds more like you never actually tried an XL KGC and just likes pretending to be useful after being reduced to below 10 effective DPS to me.
