Yes, all quirks and skill tree are still applied, just the loadout is stock.

I'll be the first to agree to mechlab flexibility and fps aiming sure. That said, the theme was to pay tribute to TRO3025 and experiment with the stock setting in EQ. The list of mechs will expand if this comes back in the future. This is merely a test using the temporary nature of EQ.

I am really enjoying this EQ. Sadly, I do not have all of the variants as I never really bothered with some of the "lesser" ones. So more variants would sure help.

That said, there is one thing that I want to suggest for the next version of this EQ... please give the mechs a speed buff. Only the speed buff and nothing else. Moving at 32 kph is really tedious. Other than that, top marks.

Thank you to whomever created this event! My stock dreams are coming true! The only way to make it better for me would be to add the PHX-1. But I love this! So fun! Makes you have to be creative about how to best use the old school tech. Thanks again!

This is genuinely fun. The GRF-1N is fun in stock mode. Of course currently all I can drop in is that and the Locust 3V but jompy boi is fun.

That's why its in event que, not the main game. I, for one, enjoy the restrictions.

I believe Adder, Artic Cheetah, Shadowcat, Huntsman, Ebon Jaguar, Gargoyle are missing from the clan ones and instead we get Trials with meta builds as their stock and Legends with meta builds as their stock lol. for IS I did not notice any legends or stock but I did not try to play them and for missing IS mechs iirc we were missing Commando, Firestarter, Flea, Panther, Spider, Assassin, Blackjack, Cicada, Dervish, Enforcer, Hatchetman, Phoenix Hawk, Trebuchet, Vindicator, Vulcan, Wolverine, Archer, Cataphract, Champion, Jagermech, Orion (although not missed cause of the quirks), Quickdraw, Rifleman, Thunderbolt (not sure about this one), Charger, Cyclops, King Crab, Longbow, Mauler, Nightstar, Victor, Zeus and many missing variants on the mechs we did have.

i was really looking forward to it as a battletech enjoyer. seeing people battle it out with classic builds. sadly, after sitting in queue for 2 hours, all ive seen are legendary and trial mechs which have pretty much meta builds on stock. idea was SUPER cool and i love it, but sadly there were not enough restrictions on the mechs. hero are fine, most are still wacky, but this is basically a queue for legendaries plus some trials...
i love the game and im extremely happy that its being developed again, but this was a little disappointing, at least for me...
(as an edit, it is a problem since the IS stock builds are roughly half as powerful as any IS legendary... i love the idea but i think people are going to do anything just to meta slave the **** out of it from what ive seen)

All good stuff to note down.

As the person who wrote this event, I've been getting good feedback on what was a test of the stock mode. Some things of note for next time -

1. More IS mechs/variants - I went with chassis and variants from the original 3025, which left out downgraded Star League mechs from the 1996 version, but next time will include the likes of King Crabs, Black Knights, etc.

2. Maybe a speed boost for the stock 3025 version, although some have said they also like the slower pace.

3. For Clans I originally envisioned people battling it out with the likes of Warhawk and Nova Primes, overlooking the fact that trials and TSP variants especially exist (less worried about Legends since the strongest one might've been the Sigma and Bull sharks are excluded). I'll go the route of specific invasion era variants next time.

It's important to note though, that no matter the build rules, a meta will ALWAYS exist and a significant part of the population will always gravitate towards that. In 3025 mediums/lights it was the HBK-4P for example.

So, the player base is going to be split between regular play and Wacky Mode(aka Event Queue) this weekend? Sweet(sarcasm)... longer wait times incoming. I wish Wacky Mode didn't exist
