I'm curious as to how the Arrow IV will work in MWO. Will it be Indirect fire, or will it be direct fire like a regular SRM/LRM?

clan's variation of the thunderbolts if I had to guess.

next mech that'll get a guaranteed pre-order: something that can punch and kick.
...or the celestials

If they do, so totally buying a pack for that mech.

Sounds just about right.

My guess is it will work like the AIV in the DLC video for MW5.

CT: "Modified Missle Loader"

Any intel yet? Might that mean different types of LRM ammo?

I am not 100% sure, but I think that has been a feature when MWO started... right? Along with knockdowns.... and that really messed a lot up. And even if knockdown wouldn't be reintroduced, I think kicking would not be something especially light mech pilots would like to see.

Seems unlikely to me. ATMs already fill that role in practice – or, perhaps considering the release order, Thunderbolts fill the ATM’s role in practice – and Arrow IV is not a uniquely Clan weapon; there are Inner Sphere ’Mechs that carry it too. In fact, I think some of them had it first.

Sure, the Naga is the one introducing it to MW5Clans and MWO specifically, but as I understand it, some Inner Sphere ’Mechs known to carry it may be coming in the future also.

If there's to be any similarity to the Thunderbolt missiles, it's that the Arrow IV missile is to this weapon what the Railgun is to the Gauss rifle family. None of this "Clan version of X" business; I know that's not what this weapon is, even here. lol

From discord:
This is how the modified missile loader on the Naga hero mech will work.
LRMs and ATMs change into constant stream fire weapons on the Hero Naga only

The stream fire dps values are this:
8/6/4/2 dps for LRM 20/15/10/5
12/9/6/3 dps for ATM 12/9/6/3 (considering the 2.0 damage bracket)

The dps values with for various launcher sizes come from the time interval between each missile launch ( for example, an LRM5 will fire 2 missiles every 1.0 second to achieve 2 dps)

If I remember correctly Arrow IV was also in Mechwarrior 2, back then... also with the Naga. And of course that was a very limited game, but the Arrow IV worked as a single, fat missile with insane range (and even more insane minimum range). It could be easily countered with AMS, so you needed to hide it between a swarm of LRMs.

I would imagine it as a indirect Railgun. Another option would be to make part of the damage armor piercing. There are MW5 videos out there already that indicate that Arrow IV will be a big nuke.

It probably will be a nuke in MW5Clans, or maybe an option. That's a game format where a tactical nuke makes sense to actually give a player.

All we have for MWO, though, at least if Navid A1 is to be taken at face value, is it's going to be "a giant missile that's going to slap you". Doesn't sound like a nuke to me; sounds more like normal Arrow IV munitions. Still gonna hurt a lot if it hits you, though.

Probably bigger and slower than most, so it'll be *relatively* easy to avoid if you're paying attention.

Also, someone in voice chat is totally going to go "Quoth the Raven: Arrow IV"

Seeing some heresy on the Steam store. An Incubus with a small cockpit? Page 211 of the Battletech Technical Manual says that clan mechs have standard cockpits only. Is this a meme?
