For the first day, no quirks and no skill tree means TAKE OFF YOUR CONSUMMABLES or you'll get kicked from the match for an invalid build

I don't know if its the dequirking or the Marauder itself, but on all the variants I ran during the heavy event (Blight, 5M and 9M) all back armor was automatically stripped off by the event no matter how much was equipped in the mech bay. Atop that, when armor was maxed out the mech health percentage was 107% in the lance status box. The only armor quirks on these mechs is a +7 on the front CT, but all armor on the rear torsos was stripped off.

I'm not sure what's happening. Dequirking bug or hidden quirks on the MADs? Didn't have time to check any other MAD variants or any other mechs for that matter, so I have no idea if its just the MADs or if more mechs are affected.

Making folks manually do this is pretty much a non starter.

Ah, I see, I think it means that we might just have to unequip extra consumables for the no quirks bit. That's less crazypants, maybe I'll give it a go.

me read good

Great idea and i appreciate the work, but you have no idea how anoying it is to keep adjusting your mechs for few, time limited matches.

To be clear, now that we are past the “no quirks/skill tree” setups, you can put your consumables back on just fine.

It was just a test for the first 24 hours.

I wish "wacky mode" didn't exist.

Has been cool, thanks. Drop decks make it alot more fun, be cool if QP allowed more than one drop.

Any chance we could see an event where it's a rotation of maps with drop deck but more like 10v10 or 12v12 with groups of 4?

Maybe the next event queue we should do lasers only for weapons, unlimited heat dissipation, weaker armor. Would make for some interesting fireworks.

Glad it was enjoyable. Weapon class limitations are not a modifier we can use unfortunately. That said there are a number of EQs coming. Some setups to expect are -

1. Solaris - 1v1 and 2v2, the 2v2 will have pure solo and groups of 2
2. Minor skirmishes - small map small lobby drops, 3v3 up to 6v6, solo and groups of 2, usually themed by weight class and tech base
3. Dropdecks Grand Conquest with mutators - extra speed capping assaults, unlimited ammo/extra armor
4. Extreme mutators - unlimited dissipation and unlimited ammo together, maybe some extra armor
5. Random FP - 8v8 Siege mode (groups of 3 max), will drop to 6v6 groups of 2 during off hours, 4v4 lights and mediums Scouting mode
6. Unlimited JJ - self explanatory
7. Stock mode (quirks and skill tree still active) - IS 3025, IS Lostech, Clan Invasion - these will be tech base specific only with specifically picked out variants
8. No armor jumpscare

Groups will never be greater than 2 aside from FP Siege 8v8 which is 3, with plenty of solo options worked in. The intent of EQ is NOT to replace QP with a no-matchmaker lobby and groups of 4. It's meant for fun modes that may switch up the meta due to limitations or modifiers.

Keep an eye out. Hopefully they'll come in a regular 2 or 3 week cadence.

@Matt Newman Enjoyed this event, thanks for putting it on - when is the next one?

Also, when is the next development VLOG for the game? We've been waiting for 3 years - the persistent uncertainty regarding the game is harmful to PGI's brand.

Finally, can you also please be clear on whether a new PvP game is in the works by PGI?
Are PGI keeping the MechWarrior licence?
Does the community now need to start making moves to the create the successful game that MWO should have been?
