I think QP should be adjusted this way: each player selects three or four mechs of the same weight class simultaneously before entering the game. Then, the map is chosen first, followed by players selecting their specific mech, and finally entering the preparation interface. This way, players won't have to worry about taking a mech with only 300-range weapons into a snowy mountain map.

I like it!
Or at least being able to select a saved loadout/skill list for the selected mech.

Your idea is probably easier to implement.

Like it, PGI should explore this idea further, and the possibility of implementing it. And don't say yhey don't have the resources, I remember back in the day when people thought they didn't have the resources to add new mechs and weapons , and all if the sudden that's all we've been getting.
