Great work people... some really good paint jobs im seeing.

Ya know... i got bored today so i took a drive to several bookstores to see if any carried any BT/MW materials such as rule books and the like. not to my surprise none of them had anything of relevance so i hit up a local comic/TT gaming store to see what they had available. Went in and asked the guy behind the register... to my astonishment... not only did they have nothing either but he never even heard of either Battletech OR Mechwarrior. He was like "Is that a new board game or something?" and "We dont carry that... but we have D&D in the back!" where he proceeded to point me to a group of guys rolling out fresh characters.

My jaw hit the floor to say the least... :(

Most of my minitures look terrible as I haven't been painting minitures for very long, seeing as I've only been playing the game for about 2-3 years, but I am pretty happy with how my Grand Titan came out.

Though I'm not happy with the eyes...

A lot of very talented painters here.

I'm sorry for the horrible picture quality (taken with my iphone). Also this is my first attempt att mechs. I have only ever painted 25 mm minis before in my life. These are painted for a friend to be used in his battletech rpg campaign. Not sure what system he will be using. Either way, he's the one who creates the scenery seen in the pics that we will be playing on.

The lighting screws up the colours.

These were painted before I realised jeweling would be more suitable for the cockpits, so I was experimenting.

These two hover APCs were painted in a sea/lake camouflage resembling the surface of a lake seen from above with waves.

Nice Aegilwolf!

I noticed several of the boxed set unseens in your pics. I have quite a few of those as well, but they don't
seem to want to take paint.

Any advice on prepping them before painting to get the base coat/primer to stick?

Thanks.

Thanks a friend of mine and I built that for GENcon and it is the same one that is seen on the back of Strat Ops. The paintjob is all mine, it also had LED lighting and a speaker that we had hooked up to an MP3 that was playing Launching sounds, Battle Sounds, and Battle Music. We had a blast with it because about part way thru we had it playing "Star Trekin" and everyone just stopped and went ***... ;) :(

There are actually fighters launching out of the fighter bays that you can't see in that photo and one inside the hangar bay.. waiting to take off..

Most of my minis are modded in some way like the helicopter above with the motor in it to make the blades spin, or tanks with magnets so the trurrets move, etc.

Heh, sorry. Which ones are the "unseen"? I can only tell you which are plastic and which are metal. Don't even know the names of all of them by heart. :P I basecoat everything with army painter's grey spraycoat.

EDIT: Come to think of it there were a few of the plastics that were molded in a very fatty plastic that didn't want to take the paint very well. I think I solved that with painting several layers of paint.

I'm still learning how to do decent paint.

These two are my favorites, although the catapult needs some touching up.

EDIT (because I forgot to include this):
To get the Jack-o-lantern Atlas to be able to hold its head, I drilled out holes for magnets in both the back of its head and the bottom. I then installed a magnet in the back of the neck (which I didn't do a very good job of covering up) and in the machine gun and hand. This allows me to move the head to however I want to use it.
