House Liao - a lovestory

So why did i choose House Liao?
Let me think a moment...
Ah yeah, i choose it, cause all these nerds i hate chose House Davion because they are so glamerous and brave, or House Marik because they have the better Mech-Variants.
And fighting them is like:
More enemies more honour.
And i want back Tikonov! Arrrrgggh!

Out of Character: I agree with Stefano.. from a gamers perspective I chose House Liao to avoid the "elitests" which I assume are flocking to Davion and maybe Steiner and Kurita. I figured those sort of players would never choose Liao since Liao pretty much "lost the Sucession Wars". I figured there would be a tighter freindly community..and I wasnt wrong from what Ive seen.

In Character: I am a Loyal servant of the Confederation. I harbor not ill will and praise the Chancellor with my first rising breath and my last concious thought before sleep claims me. I have but 3 desires all of which He as graciously provided for me. To be among my Equals, To serve with dignity and honor and to Shoot Davions in the back when they arent looking.

(this is out of character): The Confederation is the underdog, is on the cutting edge of technological recovery (GECM, BAP, MASC) with some nice innovations around the corner, the house has been around for longer than most of the other factions (FWL only surviving group that is older) and their cultural philosophy centers on contribution to the strength of the whole over individual renown. So the Confederation has had a couple of leaders crack under the pressure, that just adds a nice bit of flavor to the entire story.

I've always had a soft spot for the underdog. It always seemed like NOBODY wanted to play as the Capellans, and I took to rooting for them.

Mostly, though, I came for the Vindicators, and I STAYED for the Vindicator parts!!!

(I loves me my vindi! ;) )

Yeah, it is great to be the underdog. Everyone respects you even if you loose (but who ever did? ;) ) and when you win, you are a boss. :D

We lost? Oh yeah that little debacle with Hanse Davion! (We all know that was staged so that we could show our superiority in getting it all back.) Underdogs all the way!

We lost only because were getting pounded from both sides by 2 houses. Though the traitor didn't help at all.

I chose House Liao the first time I read the Battletech 2nd edition rulebook back in 1990.

Of course, I do tend to root for the underdog or outsider in a lot of games, so my choice was even more obvious.

I have fought for the Capellan Confederation and its Chancellor for over 20 years, and I shall keep doing so until my last breath.

I was part of the leadership of Liao in the old MPBT (AOL! Gamestorm!) days. Led an elite unit called "No Mercy".

Seems like this will be a good opportunity to bring it all back.

He will show up. Well, you are familiar with him if you were one of the leaders for sure. :)

I don't even remember anyone's callsigns (except for SD's, but I went to high school with him). I do remember losing IceFire, though :RIP:

I, like most others, chose because of the love for an underdog. But being here for well over 10 years, I stay for the people I have met.
