I thought 3D was a gimmick of some sort and it would be over in a matter of years. Then my friend acquired some 3D equipment and was very excited about it. I did not care about it untill I wandered about thinking: Should I give it a try?
I did not have the slightest clue about headaches, eyestrains, nuesas or how it would affect me. Would it be some kind of junk I had to return?
No not at all. I have never regretted my purchase and I really love 3D Vision. It brings gaming to a new level of realism I never though was possible, even though I was sceptical about it in the start. Personally I think the "3D effect" in cinemas are garbage.

I have no interest in 3D. That people are still buying this garbage in stores blows my mind.

When they develop a system that can project the game world around me [putting me in a graphical "bubble"] where I can look around and see a 360 degree projection of a program without the use of a wirebound head system. . . you call me. At that point, i don't care if they have to implant half the system into my cerebral cortex :)

I've been using nVidia 3d for a few years now and it's gotten to the point where I don't want to play a game without it. I even liked 3d back when I used it with my 3DFX Voodoo Extreme video card. (Now I'm telling my age). I owned and played the first Mechwarriors and they were awesome. I only found MWO about a week ago and I was excited; Downloaded it, then figured out how to get 3d to work on it. BTW, it looks superb in 3d (minus the still 2d HUD). As much as I loved the Mechwarrior series I would only be [at most] half as interested if I couldn't get it in 3d. 2d is so 2d flat... blahhh. I've played a million games with the flat crap. It may seem gimmicky to some, but any gamer I've showed some live, good looking, 3d gameplay to was amazed. Maybe some of you don't know what you're talking about, maybe some don't know what you're doing with it, maybe some people DO get headaches (I never have), but it's like a breath of fresh air to somebody whose been looking at flat for a while.
With all the tessellations, blur, and other '3d' effects it's still flat in 2d, but actually looks awesome when it appears to be three inches from you face. 3D will get better (i.e... no glasses) and I'm thankful for MWO and others who support what's available now!
