allowing the option for third person allows an advantage that would cripple the game, being able to see around corners and all.

This game is intended to simulate you as the pilot of a mech, not be an arcade shooter where you essentially are the mech.
It would not be a mech simulator with 3rd person view, it would become an arcade shooter instead.
The devs have clearly stated that they will not add 3PV, as such continuing to ask for it to be added is pointless.
End of discussion.
