Art & Story Contest
This is the first of many contests to come hosted by NGNG! Here's the plan. You (that's right you!) create original Mechwarrior/Battletech art and fiction. You will than email your work to NGNG, where it will be posted on the site. Once the deadline for submissions is reached, a poll will be created for the comunity to vote via forums. The winners will receive free video games via Stream. Sounds simple right? That's because it is!
- The Do's: Make it entertaining. Make it original. Make it fun. One submission per contestant. Yes you can submit entry's in both contests!
- The Don'ts: Don't plagiarize. Don't be racist or sexist. Don't include pornographic content. When in doubt, follow what has been done in the Battletech universe thus far. In short, don't be immature.
Read below for both contests information!
Art Contest, Phase 1: Battlemech in Action!
Welcome to the NGNG Winter Art Contest! This contest will be for drawn art, whether by hand, with a tablet or even with oil-based paints. If you want to try water-color, go for it!
For the first phase of the Art Contest, you will depict a Battlemech in action! You may include other things in your entry ('Mechs, Vehicles etc), but the primary focus must be a single Battlemech.
Your 'Mech must be doing at least 1 of the 3 things; engaged in combat, in a unique firing position, or making a physical attack. Make sure your 'Mech is depicted in one of these ways, but feel free to combine 2 or even all 3. Make sure to follow these guidelines:
- Only use cannon Battlemechs
- The Battlemech/s must have been in use before or during 3048
- Your entry must be 100% original. Including contest that you did not create will be seen as plagiarism, and you will be immediately disqualified from this contest and future ones as well. Using art created prior to the contest's start date is also frowned upon.
Must be in .jpeg or .png format.
The dimensions must be at least 1280x800 (we've got a minimum size because the images will be displayed on the NGNG website in a gallery).

Fiction Contest, Phase 1: After Action Report!
So it begins...
For the first phase of the Fiction contest, you will write an after-action report. in this case, the AAR will consist of a retrospective analysis/evaluation of a single battle that the author of the report (you) either observed directly or took part in. The style of the report may vary depending on your story's narrator and his/her/their point-of-view. Use your imagination, but make sure to follow these guidelines:
- The battle must take place in the year or prior to 3048
- You may use established characters, units or events in your story so long as their involvement does not stray from cannon lore. No slash-fiction about Galen *** and Victor Steiner-Davion.
- It must be no longer than 1500 words. This limit will make reading all the entries feasible, though the limit may go up or down in future contests.
- No racism or sexism. No excessive profanity. No overtly pornographic material. Try and keep the story Rated-R or less.
- Plagiarism, either from official cannon or existing fan fiction is grounds for fiction is grounds for immediate disqualification and possible banning from future contests.
