My favorite Inner Sphere mech has to be the Archer. It's a decent fire support Heavy. Clan wise, call me silly but I have always liked the Kodiak. Not an Omni, but the 100 tonner was always sexy in either Tabletop or Computer games.

I always had a liking for the blackhawk in MW3. Decent amount of speed and firepower for its class. Other than that I love the Diashi in MW4. Its just a murdering machine when packed wih clan LBX 10'S or 20's

My favorite 'mech is the Firestarter. It gets ignored most of the time but can ruin Infantry and Vehicles to no end. It can threaten undersinked mediums and heavies, such as an Orion. The FS9-M Firestarter 'Mirage' variant is my favorite 'mech of Battletech.

The Wolverine... because in a mechlab.. there's so many places that machine can be taken. Its fast, reasonably armored, and with a little tweaking a great hunter killer mech, plus it looks like what you'd get if a Caterpillar tracked dump dozer and a Ferrari had a baby.

Well....My fav is the Dire Wolf, but i haven't played for a while, so i would probably experiment with heavy and medium designs. Vulture also really caught my eye, as did the Bushwacker. Bushy is a good allrounder, and the Vulture can really mess up your day at range, but can hold its own up close. would either swap the LRM-15s for 10s and add some lazers or ditch 2 medium lasers for LRM 20s. idk. maybe i'd make a sniper....

Cauldron Born

I abhor assaults unless in the final stages of a planetary assault when they are actually useful. They are for pansies anyway. (<-- Troll!! do not take bait)

Although originally I liked the MadCat the most I would have to say Cauldron Born now. It's almost a toss-up at times. My entire Mechwarrior life began upon finding a book with the MadCat on the front. Those 2 shoulder mounted pods just brimming with death. It's been forever since playing an online MW game on my PC.

I guess it's time to get out my suit and start polishing the helmet.

Wait.... that didn't sound right.

I'm highly surprised there hasn't been more love for the Adder/Puma. Pound for pound, it's easily the nastiest mech out there, imo.

35 tons with two ERPPCs? Not to mention you can you can deploy those PPCs at almost 98kph. That's a lot of firepower to be able to move around so quickly.

I've always figured that was probably one of the nastiest surprises for the IS during the clan invasion. I mean, a Dire Wolf, sure it's nasty, but you expect 100tons to be nasty. I remember it was terrible in MW3, running across a group of Pumas with my heavy lance, and still sustaining heavy damage despite the weight advantage (and usually taking at least one loss in that particular mission; stupid AI lancemates were always getting themselves killed; 8 ER PPCs will do that ;))

Ugh, do I HAVE to choose just one?

Fine I will. I would have to go with the Mad Cat MKII. Nothing says "GOOD MORNING" like a pair of Gauss rounds in the face at 800m.

Its a close one but I definitively like the Mod Dog (Vulture). Good speed, great pod space, a little light on the armor but I usually just add 2 tons of armor on and add the rest in fire power. For its weight class it has great Crit/tonnage to play with. Usually run 2 LRM 15s with 2 tons reg ammo, 1 ton swarm, 1 HAG 20, 2 tons of ammo and three medium lasers. Add ECM and Im good to go.

I love the Summoner (Thor) but it's just basically a medium mech in a heavy mechs body. In game I will likely play it a lot because I am a Jade Falcon player and its basically their AK-47.

I like many mechs, especially classics like the Madcat. But the Uziel is my baby. The mobility, speed, and long range strike capability of the Uziel fits my piloting style perfectly. The look of the chassis combined with the attention the dual PPC's get when they cut into the enemy is a win in my book.

Marauder MAD-5S

Nothing says "I hate you" quite like two ER PPCs, two medium pulse lasers, and a gauss.

Its a hard choice between either the Mad Cat or the Awesome, the awesome was my first mech-love, and I'll never forget that summer we had together *sigh*

That thing is a truly excellent mech. Fast, demonic armament, heavy armor, versatile, good range mixture, and that's just the stock version. Throw in the fact that she's an omni, and you've got an infinite number of possibilities. Maybe not the best mech ever, but it's the one I've always loved :D

Runner-up: Shadow Cat :D

Marauder II

The Marauder was one of the best looking designs ever and I love assault mechs. Add on some wings, make it 100 tons with jump jets, 100% energy based and with all the armor of an Atlas and what is there NOT to love!?!

Grasshopper! It's not that pretty visually but the weapon layout and the ability to jump for a 70 tonner make it boss in my books. Also won a tourney in the 80's with this mech.
