Ok gents, I think I have had about enough of this, and I really think it should be put to an end just like TT vs MW.
A few weeks ago there was a threat which broke down the fact that TT vs MW argument is dumb, and it is. Since then the other argument has become bigger but remains just as dumb, EVE online (EVE) Vs World of Tanks (WoT).
EVE and WoT are both MMO communities which host similarities to each other and what many of us think MW:O will be, true. I am willing to extend and say that MW:O will be as much like EVE as it is like WoT.
The real point I would like to say is that it is pointless to sit down and argue between each other which MW:O will be like, or which you want it to be like. MW:O will be its own game in the end. If you want to sit down and argue which is better, EVE or WoT, please, take it to the off topic discussion board in the forums and have at it. I am going to plead that we stop trying to extrapolate what PGI is going to give us based on unrelated tittles. There are things we all love and hate about other games and making isolated comparisons is fine, but it is unfair to PGI to go on a tirade about why or why not a game should or should not be like EVE or WoT, particularly when you know so little.
So please, stop the EVE vs WoT debates in the MW:O topics. If you would like to see a specific feature, please state it vice simply stating, ‘like EVE/WoT’ and if you do not like the feature mentioned, then please don’t just say ‘I do not like EVE/WoT’.
These kinds of arguments do not get us anywhere or help the community, and yes, I have been a guilty party in the past but at least I realize I was dumb for them.

Stop EVE vs WoT debates Please

Yeah guys, stop using a forum for discussion.
and I don't think there's much of an argument to be had, based on what PG has said it's going to have a random battle and clan/guild meta game system that mirrors WoT but with a few things that make it unique (faction wars and what not.) EvE's free floating completely player run economy is a great achievement for that game but it just doesn't have a place everywhere

Well, thank you for partialy proving my point.
In case you have not looked, the forums is broken by general topics. MW:O is a genral discussion board for MW:O Not EVE vs WoT.
I am by no means telling people not to discuss, but asking people to not turn discussions like 'Mech lab', 'Salvage', 'Perma Distruction/Perma ownership' into WoT vs EVE. I dont care if people have a personal slight against EVE/WoT or its comunities. I care about MW:O and how it will play. If you dont like either of the franchises, that is fine, dont just write off some one's argument becuase you hate 'all' of EVE and everything CCP. same for WoT, which I dont know much about.
Its a simple request, dont go off on offtopic tangents about how/why EVE/WoT is a bad game, thats why there is an offtopic section of the forums and indaviduals can move thier debates down there.

Umm, what is TT?
Also, I've been guilty of comparing WoT to what I think MW:O will be like because there is no reference point to go off of. There isnt enough media to identify MW:O as its own game yet and most discussions are basically based off of how we would want the game to play, and observations made from other similar games using different styles of free to play models which opens to discussion what may and may not work. Once again I would say call the ceasefire once we have something solid to go off of, but until then all we can do is go from what we have from a reference point of view. I would have to respectfully disagree and say at this point in time, these kind of arguments get us everywhere as there isn't much to reference. Debate is healthy as long as there is something to take away from it. Otherwise how would we discuss the topics with as little as we know about the game? Do we reference the few pieces of concept art to determine how certain mechanics will work in the game?

The issue as I have seen it, isnt comparing MW:O online to other games, or wanting to see certian game features from other games in MW:O, its usualy when some one mentions EVE/WoT, it turns into an argument about which is better.. and no longer is about MW:O. I am just rying to stop the threads that pop saying 'I want EVE/WoT online with mechs' where EVE players and WoT players argue on which game is better... :\
