Exactly, D (sorry, your full name is just really hard to get down without making about five mistakes, and I type 100wpm with a 98% accuracy rating. So, If I'm saying it's hard, then it's hard ^_^ ), mercenaries generally do not trust.

Oh, and I forgot to add something... payment to Lone Wolves. Unless it's going to be automatic payment, which would be okay, I suppose, then part of the money would need to go to the Lone Wolves, as well. There should be an option for bonuses or stipends.

In BT cannon, mercenaries generally own their own mechs. In exchange for having the mech and the pilot, repairs are covered at no personal cost to the pilot. It's actually a lot more complicated than that, because you have things like contracts, bonds, and insurance, but that's what it boils down to. Units do not, however, give out mechs except in very rare instances.

Untrue, Fyrwulf; my mercenary unit's history is replete with instances where MechWarriors were given 'Mechs, especially when their's was blown out from under them and either needed to be repaired or was scrapped. As well, I don't believe I've ever read in the lore or fluff where mercenary commands fail to assist their MechWarriors in the acquisition of a new 'Mech if they had their's destroyed, unless the command simply did not have the 'Mech. Any mercenary command that does not have at least a full Lance of 'Mechs at their disposal, even if it has to be shipped to them, is not doing their job right. Too much risk of losing everything if you don't have a means of backup; it's called a business plan, where you have the ability to keep going, even if your business gets hit.

No, actually, but I'll need to really put some things in step-by-step to explain the whole plan...

1) the contract is negotiated, and then completed...
...... A) Naturally, the Merc Corps gets a certain percentage from the contract to keep the Corps itself running, and
...... B ) Each pilot, based on their rank and/or MechWarrior Quality (per the Mercs Handbooks, Green, Regular, Veteran, or Elite) gets a percentage of what remains

2) The Corps pays whatever 'bills' are necessary to be paid and then uses the HQ interface to...
...... A) split off one-third of what remains after 'bills' to KEEP in its own coffers, and
...... B ) shoves the remaining two-thirds into a central maintenance/upgrade coffer to be used by any MechWarrior/Officer in the unit, with ranked Officer approval, to repair and/or upgrade their machines

3) Whatever money from the maintenance/upgrade coffer that is not used, or cannot be used because parts are too expensive and/or are unavailable, after a certain amount of time, would go BACK into the Merc Corps main coffer for...
...... A) any upgrades to the HQ
...... B ) for stockpiling parts or other supplies necessary in the game, or
...... C) purchasing more 'Mechs for the Merc Corps' stable

Basically, what I'm saying is there should be multiple options for the use of any money coming in through the contractual economy.

That sounds better than what I originally thought you meant.

I knew I didn't explain it completely the first time. So, thank you for the compliment.
