OK Guys, I got this idea from a league I was in, partly because I actually pulled this off, so here goes. *Pops knuckles*
*static*"This is Dragoon unit 7, first lance, we're under fire, taking heavy losses. ITS STEINER REPEAT, STEINER IS ATTACKING OUR POSITION. OH **** fall back, FALL BA-*static"
"This was their last transmission, afterwards as you can see, we lost contact, Steiner let them do their jobs, then rather than pay up, it seems that they've opted to just kill our boys,"
"Blasted Lyrans, they need to be taught a lesson,"
"Aff, that they do need, but calm yourself Blackjack, we can't just storm the capitol, not yet anyway."
"Don't talk like that around us Chris, we know that you were a part of Clan Wolf, but those days are over, we fought you guys, and I know you are still honor bound, and don't use my call sign like that, jeez every time I hear it I turn around expecting to see the Regimental Commander,"
"Alright then, Dylan, but I won't settle for anything less than humiliating the Lyrans, there is a reason that the Wolf's Dragoons are the most feared mercenary unit in the inner sphere, let's remind them of why,"
"Commander,"
"Yes, who is it,"
"This is tech officer Barnes, we got a transmission incoming, Hyperpulse channels, its from command,"
"Patch it through"
"Wolf Lead 666 are you receiving?"
"Aff Sir, go ahead,"
"I need a sit rep on your current situation"
"We are alive, and still kicking sir,"
"Good, and the job is completed?"
"Aff sir, we have the situation in hand, and were about to hand it over to local militia,"
"Right your payment is already on its way,"
"Sir, permission to speak,"
"Granted, what's on your mind Guardian,"
"I want revenge sir, "
*looks quizzically for a moment* "Revenge for what,"
"Sir, we just received a transmission from a nearby unit that Steiner, is defaulting on some of their contracts, particularly by killing our pilots,"
"I have no reports from Steiner, or those units from that matter,"
"Here is the transmission sir, accelerate to thirty minutes and twenty seconds, and that's where it starts,"
*Recording plays, sounds of battle, and pilots calling for help are heard, and a minute later transmission is cut short... the commanding officer in the HPG view screen visibly changes from professional to grave*
"How long ago was this?"
"Two days ago, we received it via FTL transmission emergency beacon,"
"You granted permission to personally hunt down and kill, any and all that were involved Guardian, and I want these made public, to show that the Dragoons don't take kindly to backstabbing surats as these, quiaff,"
"Aff sir, we will begin hunting immediately,"
To be continued....

Ok continuing from where I left off
"Dylan get officer Barnes on the horn, tell him we're heading towards the Kentares system, it time Steiner learned a little lesson about payback,"
"Roger that, right away sir,"
"Sergeant Josh,"
"Yes sir,"
"Pull up the records for first lance, unit 7. I want to know what other Steiner unit they were attached to,"
"Yes sir,"
I stared into the black of space, I had seen betrayals before, but never on this scale. Who knew how many Dragoons were actually lost, how many escaped, how many were dead. The only thing I knew, was that Steiner was going to pay dearly for what they had done, even if I had to personally rip out the heart of the Archon himself. If it came to that, then all of the houses would acknowledge the Dragoons as a force to be reckoned with. And Steiner had tried to cheat us before, but this was the last straw. I went my bunk in the crew quarters. I didn't sleep in the captain's cabin, because this was my company of troops, we made a vow to live together, to fight together, to die together. As I fell to sleep I could hear the hum of the engines firing, as we headed towards the Kentares system, towards Steiner, towards revenge.

The trip was long and uneventful, all men were constantly checking and rechecking battlemechs, battle armor, and vehicles. We had made all repairs that we hadn't gotten to by the time we arrived, and I was handed the file for the current Commanding officer on Kentares, his name was Stephen Amaris, though I was told the last name was only concidental to some of the other names Amaris refers to. He was a Hauptmann, and apparently a ruthless one at that. He was located in a mountainous region, along with a group of 3500, making only 40 of them mech pilots, of those, 10 were constantly on patrol, though from what comms we intercepted, they were to be on radio silence, until they spotted something, which was odd. I looked at the map and saw a point of entry, there was a small mountain pass, just large enough to get through, but it was also being watched by a pair of mechs. Pulling up his personal unit roster, was actually surprising, as it was extremely light for a Steiner commander. He had mostly mediums and lights, except for himself, and his personal command lance, which were all assaults. The rest of the Hauptmann's units were elsewhere, either on missions, or just scattered over the planet, to decrease the chance of being detected. This man was following the book, to the letter.
"Sergeant Josh"
"Yes sir,"
"Get my binary up here, and tell officer Barnes that I want all combat personnel listening to this,"
"Yes sir,"
I waited maybe six minutes, and they all were here, already dressed in mech pilot uniforms.
"Dragoons, here's our target, his name is Stephen Amaris, he is a high ranking officer in the Steiner military forces, also the commanding officer to the unit that our boys were attached to. His position is here, and these are his routes of escape, (*points to several points on the map*), now he won't be expecting a reprisal from us, but there is patrols in the area, they are consisting of light and medium mechs. Now our point of entry is here, and there seems to be two mechs guarding that point, I want all power armor personnel to listen to this, one of you is to carry a jammer, and then take out those mechs while we advance. Once they are down the power armor will infiltrate the base, and move to destroy the mech pilot barracks, and comm towers, then my binary will destroy any and all mech defenders, and reinforcements as they arrive, and a VTOL will arrive to take Amaris into custody, I want him alive, I don't care if you break his arms and legs, but I want him alive. After that we extract and I will get my next target from him. Any questions? No, then get to your battle stations,"
The pilots saluted, and I heard the call resound throughout the ship, it was a general quarters, we were getting ready to drop. I climbed into my summoner, custom outfit and started the power up sequence. The hangar was cleared, and the arm extended to bring us into dropping position. The dropship then began it's run into a low orbit. We were in atmosphere, but still high enough that ground fire couldn't reach us. It took the dropship thirty seconds to get us into position, and then I felt the weightlessness of free fall. I waited what seemed to be forever, and then fired my jump jets, slowing down my descent, and waited seemed like an eternity later, I hit the ground. My mechs actuators dissipated the impact by bending, almost into a crouch, and then corrected themselves. I heard the others land as well, and looked to see how they had landed. From the looks of things, we all landed alright.
"Alright Guardian binary form up on me, set your heading 350 and head through to the pass,"

I looked ahead to toward the pass, and then I saw it, a small light. I zoomed in using my range finder, and sure enough it was a power armor, he flashed his lights three times, which was the signal that the mechs had be taken care of. We advanced, radar's off, and scanning the pass for targets. Then I saw what looked like a small lookout post, which had already been overrun by power armor. And since there was no alarm, I guessed we took it silently, and no one had noticed. I finally reached the perimeter, and then spotted the pilot barracks, I fired a large laser in my left arm, and let loose my LRMs, blowing up the barracks, I then switched to thermal, and spotted what looked like the command barracks, I saw a couple of figures exit and I opened up with a pair of LMGs in front of them, to get them to run back into their tent. Watching the comm tower explode brought a smile to my face. The power armor advanced to the barracks, and I listened on the comms for their live feed. I heard gunfire from one of the enemy, and then I heard someone scream, and the crack of bone.
"Guardian,"
"Aff, this Guardian, go ahead Daredevil,"
"The package is secure, call in a VTOL transport."
"Aff, good, Wolf's Vengeance, this Guardian, I need a prisoner transport down here now,"
"Roger that Guardian, this Angel 1 we'll be down right quick,"
EDIT: Some Typos

I climbed down from my mech, we were back inside the dropship, and I couldn't wait to interrogate the Hauptmann. I walked up to the elevator that went toward's our interrogation room. The officer outside handed me a file, it contained the name and location of family members if I wanted it as leverage, and also his past history as a commander. I opened the sliding door, and walked in, I saw that they had only had done triage to the arm, not completely repair it, good. I immediately threw down a copy of the Dragoon insignia on the table in front of him.
"Recognize that,"
He grimaced, realizing I wasn't going to take this by the book, and was already going to play hard ball with him.
"Never seen it before in my life,"
I then threw a right hook into the side of his face. I didn't hit him as hard as I could have, because that would've killed him, but he was in pain.
"Liar, you had those men contracted to you unit as support for your last mission. Now, what happened to that Dragoons unit?"
"They completed the contract, and left,"
This time, I kicked the broken arm, re-breaking it and he screamed in pain.
"Wrong answer, keep lying to me Stephen, it will only get worse, and when I'm through with you, and you still do not answer my questions truthfully... I will go to your home, and kill your son, and your two daughters, slowly right in front of your wife, and then I will torture your wife until she begs me to end it, and then I will kill her. Do you want that to happen Stephen, do you, you already have the blood of my brothers on your hands, I am out for blood, and I now don't care if I get all of the people responsible for this. You now have a choice to make Stephen, chose well,"
The man in front of me started crying, I left the room leaving him to his answer. I had broken him, not only physically, but mentally, he would never be the same man, never. I walked back into the crew quarters, and fell asleep, I could do no more today. And tomorrow was a big day indeed.

I walked back into the room with our new prisoner, he was a wreck, but something shone in his eyes, a fire, a new determination.
"So, what's your answer Lyran?"
"I'll tell you, but my family receives no harm, if I must die so be it, I'll not have them harmed, deal Dragoon?"
"Deal, so tell me, what put the notion into your head to gun down my brothers,"
"It was an order, from a higher command, one of Kommandant's I believe, it said that the Archon wasn't going to pay the Dragoons the sum that they were promised, since we should've been able to take the position by ourselves,"
"Thank you, now, I regret to inform you, you will not be going home, at least not right away,"
"I will not surrender any pride, I will not resist,"
I looked up, and that's when I placed it, it was the courage of a dead man.
"Guard, escort this man up to the telecom room,"
"Yes sir,"

"Archon of the Lyran Commonwealth, this is Guardian Wolf of the Wolf's Dragoons. Before me I have Hauptmann Stephen Amaris, who has carried out your orders. You wanted to try and cheat us Archon? Try and flex your muscles? Show a merc unit that you are the top dogs and that we should be lucky you don't wipe us out? Today, you will see what I have in store for you, Archon, so feel smug in that throne of yours."
Turns and draws sword from a sheath. Walks back over to the Hauptmann, and strikes with a single blow, cutting off the head in one cut. The head rolls and falls to the floor, and blood squirts from the stump, as the body falls over. Camera feed ends.

Draco awoke to the sound of a general quarters alarm. He got up and went outside of the dormitory, saw red flashing lights, and heard blaring alarms. He started to run toward the CIC. Reaching the center he found the officers running from one place to another, carrying out orders, and providing spec information on whatever contact they had. Draco looked around and found the chief gunnery officer, he was manning his battle station. It felt like it had twenty years ago, he was younger then, and now he was the commanding officer. He tapped the gunnery officer’s shoulder, he ripped around with the look of fear. He wasn’t used to combat operations, well better now than later Draco thought.
“Gunnery officer, sit rep,”
“Sir we’re engaging a Aegis Class Cruiser. They’ve got us outgunned, but we’re launching the fighters,”
“Maneuver us so that we can maximize our firepower while minimizing theirs. Cross the T, and hit their engines. Officer Barnes,”
“Yes sir,”
“Put me on the intercom to all personnel,”
“Aye sir, intercom to all personnel. Comms are yours commander,”
“This is commander Draco to all personnel of the Wolf’s Vengeance. Today we are about to set into motion one of the greatest victories the Inner Sphere has ever seen. We are going to kill the Archon of the Lyran Commonwealth and so send a message to the rest of the Inner Sphere. That we as Dragoons, are not to be trifled with, we will not bow, and we most certainly not go quietly. We will have our vengeance against these Steiner dogs. It will require the utmost best of you, and we all expect nothing less from ourselves, and our brothers and sisters in arms. MAN YOUR STATIONS, FORWARD TO VICTORY!!!”
Draco saw that a resounding cheer came from the men at their posts, and Draco got ready in his battle mech armored jumpsuit. He then proceeded to the hangar, he wanted to be the first to hit the ground when the made it in atmosphere.
***switches to Draco’s brother, Phiro***
Phiro checked all of his gauges, this old Centurion fighter was aged, but his company had seen to its modernization when materials came available. It used to be fast, and agile, but now, it was extremely fast, and could fly circles around any other fighter of its class. Phiro put on his helmet, and started up the take-off sequence. This modified Fortress was built specifically to haul several wings of Aerospace fighters, and one wing of the old Ahabs, now rebuilt to engage capitol ships, and provide ground support.
“Phiro checking in, all wing leaders, report status, and check in,”
“This is Red wing, checking in,”
“Blue wing, checking in,”
“This is Gold wing checking in,”
“This is Black wing, my bombers are ready, and rearing,”
“All fighters intiate take-off sequence, and form up on me,”
Phiro put his engines to full throttle and hurtled out of the dropship. He banked left to fly around the Fortress once, and then watched as the wing commanders formed up on him. Phiro brought his throttle down to about 75%, and kept up the circling maneuver till all the fighters were formed up. Phiro then brought his fighter so that it was in line with the Aegis Cruiser. The rest followed, and soon they were in engagement range.
“All fighters, accelerate to attack speed, bombers follow us up and hit that Cruiser with everything you got,”
“Copy Wolf Dragon,”
“Copy that Wolf Dragon, my Torpedoes are primed and ready,”
Hah, torpedoes, Phiro thought. It was an idea from on the higher up techs, that in order to build a more suitable anti-warship missile, he looked to what we had used at sea. He got an idea to fit the torpedoes with rocket engines, and then launch them in volleys at warships. And this was the first time they would see combat. Phiro saw hangar bays open and watched as the Chippewas flew out to meet his force. They were better armed, but these upgraded Centurions would be more than a match, with maneuverability and comparable with armor. Phiro noted his master alarm scream with the targeting from the Chippewas, and he yelled the command that everyone had been waiting for.
“BREAK FORMATION, BREAK BREAK BREAK,”
Phiro pulled back on the stick, and brought his craft onto a dive, as the rest of his fighters started ot dodge every which way, and the Chippewas struggled to keep their lock. Phiro brought his fighter inside their formation, and fired a volley with all three medium lasers. Two strck one Chippewa, hitting it in the wing, causing it to fly off. The third struck another dead center of its hull and Draco watched as he saw air leak out of it. Barrel rolling right, Phiro brought his fighter behind another formation of two Chippewas trying to engage a Centurion. Phiro gave chase, and stayed behind them, fighting for a lock. He obtained a lock, and in a move of desperation, the Chippewa broke left hard. Phiro barely managed to stay behind him, but had lost his lock in the process, as he began to chase the Chippewa down. He finally gotten another lock with his lasers, and before the other fighter could react, he fired. Three lances of ruby light pierced the void of space, and hit the engine of the enemy craft, causing it to explode. Phiro pull up and managed to avoid it, and then another much larger explosion caught his eye, it was the side of the Aegis, it had multiple gaps in its hull and armor. Phiro immediately went in drawing several Chippewas behind him. He started to weave in between the infrastructure of the ship, laser fire going on all around. Phiro got to the end of the ship, and lined up a run on the bridge. The forward laser batteries were firing shots all around him, but their guns were too large to track him. Then the trio of Chippewas appeared in front of him, guns blazing. Phiro instinctively pulled up, barrel rolling to avoid their lasers, and dodging the missiles as they flew past him. He then banked left, and saw one of the Chippewas get vaporized by a naval laser that was trying to target Phiro. Diving, Phiro went straight at the Aegis, two Chippewas hot on his tail. He pulled up at the last second, watching the first Chippewa slam into the cruiser, and the other keeping pace. Phiro then gunned his engines into overdrive, straight at the bridge. He checked his rear cam, and saw lasers fly around him, while he was barely keeping pace with the missiles. He checked his afterburners, he had ten seconds, nine, eight… and the bridge loomed into view. Phiro fired all three medium lasers, and pulled up, with an excruciating amount of G forces crushing him into his seat. Phiro saw the missiles and the Chippewa, impact the bridge as well, as it was too late for it to pull away. Phiro sucked in air as the G forces let up, and checked the status of the dog fight below. It was going well, there was only three Chippewas left, and the Ahabs lined up another target run on the Aegis, and fired the last of their torpedoes. The ship finally couldn’t take it anymore, and began to give into gravity as its engines died. Then the torpedoes hit, one actually drilling through the outside of the ship, to rock it with an explosion from the inside. The ship broke in two pieces and started to fall back into the planet’s atmosphere.
“All wings report in,”
“This is Red wing, all accounted for,”
“Blue wing, all here,”
“Gold Wing, we lost four,”
“This is Black wing, we lost two,”
“Well boys, we just killed our first cruiser, yeah hah,”
“WOOOHOHOHOOOO,”
“YEEAAH,”
Phiro smiled as his wingmates cheered, the fight was far from over, but this was definitely a victory that they all could be proud of.
“Alright you mongrels settle down, dock with the dropship and prepare to repair and rearm, we’re going to support the assault force,”
****(Back to Draco’s point of view)****
Draco started cheering with the rest of the men on board when he saw the second explosion rock the Aegis cruiser, and it began to fall back into the atmosphere. The checked the comms and heard the losses, six overall. He sighed, it was expected, but he knew his brother didn’t expect it as much as he did, he was still green, but he had shown promise in a command position. He watched the fighters dock, and tech teams quickly ran out to get them back in the air as soon as possible. He admired their speed and skill, they had learned well. Draco took his position on the Drop ramp. He set his drop pods to manual fire, and waited for the go signal. He watched the fighters exit the dropship, and heard the comm chatter that told him they would be covering them in.
