there's too many "banzais" in this thread...and I'm tied of trying to change mine so it's stayin!

Anyway, did we ever come up with a final name for this Mickey Mouse operation? I kinda liked BIAAW...Empy's right, it DOES kinda resemble a battle cry...a Sake fueled one perhaps, but a battle cry nonetheless.
Any word on when units can officially register?

Yeah, we need to quit procrastinating and make a decision. We aughta just go with "TB's" and work it out from there.

Well, if we wanted to keep the 'TB' logo and prefix, we could always go with "The Blacklisted" or "The Blacklist (Lancers)"

I'm not the Sempai atm, but I'm sure there's always room for an Atlas, if crazyness is not something you're affraid of

If we go simply with "TB's" we can do whatever we like with it, both for logos, decal art, etc. We can still point people back to the Institute, still perform senseless Banzai charges at inappropriate times, and generally carry on as usual--without running afoul of either the "no canon" rule or the inevitable paralyzation brought on by asking our group of highly talented misfits to come to a common decision when there is no alcohol or spare mech part stash on the line.

And we need to do it soon. Time, she is a'ticking...

Actually, how would the forbiddance on existing canon names work here? "Team Banzai" was more or less written out as the canon name, so does that mean a player merc corp could use it?

Well, there's a whole 'nother mess of I.P. issues arising from us using the Team Banzai name in MWO.

But yeah, out of egalitarianism (and I agree with Bryan on this - allowing ONE group of mercs to claim a canon name they've used in the past would be unfair to other groups that have also used the same name in the past) NO ONE can use ANY name that has EVER been canon; and the old stories never got 'retconned' out - TB just sort of 'drifted away' from the BT storyline, but it still IS in the books, so... *shrug*

We'll just jump for "TB" on launch and then fill it in with something that passes official scrutiny later.
