That's what we in the industry call a "destabilizing element".

Atlantes, arguably, Atlas, no. It definitely pluralizes, argument (in loosest sense of the word) is how. Atlai is a joky (for anyone who knows anything about this) form, Atlantes is the 'correct' form extrapolated from its linguistic origin and Atlases is the actual plural in English. Stuff like Atlae and Atlantae are simply wrong and not a BT meme, either. :-)

Says who? Atlantes is for statues of Atlas, not for Atlas mech in the battletech universe. Atlas as in the map is Atlases and also does not apply, so deciding on the fictional mech version is truly up to us. I choose Atlai or Atlaii personally, but you are incorrect if you think there is a true plural that exists for this unless it is stated already in a battletech novel.

I would rather watch womens volleyball, such as Brazil vs. USA a few days ago. The fun part was cheering for both teams, and it was a win-win game for me. Did you see the legs and butts on those girls? Nevermind guys, you would rather shoot giant roborts.

In all seriousness, Atlai and Atlaii are objectively incorrect, or at least the most incorrect of all options discussed, right?
I don't think he was talking about a "true" plural - he was merely stating the facts.

Wrong in every way possible, first for taking this as SRS BSNS, then because they are all the same word and for related reasons, next because neither of your choices are remotely in the running for the 'real' one and finally because it's Atlases. In English, which is what the novels used (and actually did use). Incidentally, definitive canon is the rulebooks and supplements over the novels. Just saying.

This is serious if you don't want to hear you're nerdy yet asskicking supergod lancemates arguing about this while you're on the other side of a hill getting buttlasered.
