Look. The only time you pluralize with an "i" is when the singular ends in "us" such as octopus - octopi.
When the singular ends in "s" the plural is "ses"
Everybody who went to school should know this.

Sonny, you just showed ownership, not pluralization. You're saying the Atlas owns something, as in "The Atlas' feet"

What about those of us who say it both of the first two ways and still laugh at the third way? And no, it means you need to die under the foot of an Atlas, you double-dealing snot! :-P

Just paste the head of Leonidas onto the Most Interesting Man In The World, make the text "Atlanteses," and there you go!

And I figured I won, because I figured out how to vote for Atlases by using a double negative. I guess not though...

Now, how do you pluralize Leonidas? ;)

Atlaseses ;)

Or maybe we could come up with some weird, bizarre spelling and pronounciation for Atlas plural...

Atlasi
Atlase
Atlaz
Atleese
Atlum
Atlak

Actually, "A flock of Atleese" sounds pretty cool.

Well I refuse to vote since both voting options are using the same obvious misspelling.

At least I can count on this game being in understandable english rather than the frightening and funny translated ramblings you can see in various other unmentioned games.

I will repost this because i think you kids are not reading this.

1.
Classical Mythology . a Titan, son of Iapetus and brother of Prometheus and Epimetheus, condemned to support the sky on his shoulders: identified by the ancients with the Atlas Mountains.

I see, so these mech are the sons of Lapetus. Wait.. No they aren't, they are mech...

Us 'kids' realize that these are not greek mythology, but Giant F&*king Robots. HAY LOK i CAN QUOT A DICTONARY IM SMRTR THN U. No.. You're an ***** for quoting the wrong thing.

These are mech, and while I feel like a demigod while piloting my deathmachine, What you are quoting is not relevant.

Besides that, noone cares, have a little fun with it. I want to be the fun party and call them Atlai. You want to ***** at people and call them dumb because you're too stupid to use your brain and figure out that the dictionary has no definition for the name of a battlemech.

Besides, look at the poll. The Atlai party is winning. xP

I am fairly sure Skadi used some underhanded tactics to change the winning vote from Atlases to Atlai. How dare you use such underhanded tricks sir. I delete my vote in defiance!

You guys are all wrong...
It's one Atlai, two Atlais, or if you want to use the ancient Romanai way, it's two Atleeni.

I doubt anyone will read this, mostly 'cause it makes sense, and this topic doesn't. Ending atlas in "i" doesn't even apply here. "what?", it's true. The "i" collective plural is only applied to words that end in "us" like fungus, and octopus. Atlas just sounds like it ends in "us" when people pronounce it. The actual plural should be atlases . So "voting for how atlases " is pluralized is pretty absurd. Inevitably continue with pointless disagreement.

ps: this applies wether or not the name is made up.
also I appologize for before, "s' " is posessive. It is "es".

No, the *correct* plural for "octopus" is either "octopuses" or "octopodes", because the word is Greek, not Latin.

Also, ownership would be (Sakurano correct me if I'm wrong) "The Atlas's feet" because "Atlas" is singular. I learnt that singulars, including those ending with s, add apostrophe and an additional s, plurals (ending with s) only add apostrophe.
