Chad, that's just awesome. I don't think it feels too slow, personally - think of it as a prepping sort of theme - Mechbay maybe? It's dark, it's heavy, and it fits a big 'Mech very nicely. A bit longer and a kick to it could propel that to awesome heights.

I would so drop to battle with that.. but during battle i'd have to throw some of my own music in the cockpit..
but for standard game music thats amazing..

i'm also with some of the others.. the MW4 install music was amazing.. i'd reinstall it just to listen to the music.....

course most computers now installing it would take no time through the CD............

Great song but it seems a bit slow to me and id like to get just a bit more of that big mech walking type of thing stomping in the background or something i feel like now its a bit... smooth? like a tank roling or a boat moving... still big heavy and metalic but dosent sound like an 80tons mech rushing at you and thats the kind of feel id like to see!

It should be epic (very), dramatic...sometimes slow and mysterious, but with action beat the most of the time.

PS. First demo and concept are very nice. But more "epic-warlike-soldiers-field of honor" themes pls :)

good intro needs to build up a bit more into somthing faster paced.

But THAT is certainly Mechwarrior.

You sir, just said what was rolling around in my mind, make that an extended version, and there is your theme music, right at mech bay. works there like a charm, imho.

On battles/combat, faster paced music is a "must"have.

Thanks for the feedback guys! I should probably clarify as to what I envisioned the piece for: I was primarily thinking about promotional trailer music/introduction screen music. It wasn't meant to be played during actual gameplay (especially since I don't believe there should be any in-game music, just strong sound design is enough). More than anything else it's just meant to embody the "feel" of Mechwarrior. Lots of tweaks to be made yet!

Hold up "it wasn't meant to be played during actual gameplay" yes it was you increase the tempo on that song and I,ll be dropping with it, besides who else here thought they could win the clan wars single handed when listening to some of the amazing music that has been put in this series, the gameplay in the mechwarrior series is amazing but the music took it to another level.

Here's a question for you folks... has anyone put a MW2 (or it's expansions) into a CD player/discman? It plays like an audio CD... I fell asleep lastnight listenting to the MW2 soundtrack... had wonderful dreams of smashing and blowing up 'Mechs and woke feeling exhausted lol (true story... try it out ;))

I absolutely love the intro, I feel like it could be a bit longer in the final version.

The tempo is fine as well, my only criticism was that the guitar is a bit overpowering, especially towards the middle.

Agreed and so true! The original MW2 soundtrack was awesome! So iconic and... I dunno... dangerous, lonely, space sounding.

That's how thought a song for this game would sound, it actually FEELS like mechwarrior and the thundering walking death machines it represents.

Well color me impressed. I will try to provide helpful comments, but don't know how successful I will be.

Its very battle march-y, that's good. I think that it would be beneficial to add in more brass, just something about battle marches needing brass. The ending was surprising. I was listening to it and fully expected more after the end and had to do a double take when nothing else started up.
