After moaning about too few game art published, I got an idea how myself and other willing people could contribute to the so-long-expected-game.
The idea is quite simple:
  • It's a common idea, that to keep auditory, well, happy and busy, any MMO project and MWO as well will have to publish new locations/objective maps periodically
  • Maintaining that work isn't easy task, so why not use some help from community's side? MWO community is very solid, adult and talanted I believe (just check out repainted art thread for Hayden's & company efforts)
  • If some kind of locations/map editor would be announced under NDA + whatever agreement required for copy rights transition, level designers could use the best of works contributed
  • We (forum's community) can even take partially task for filtering and sorting out best works done in order to take some load of designers' team
  • Of course such a dedication requires some kind or reward, let's say starting from specific hulla-girls up to something more significant, but that's hundreds of working hours traded for bunch of pixels anyway! Profit?
I belive, that the idea could be extended further, but I'll stop just at the point.

P.S. Does anybody rememeber MW2:Mercs scripting language and interpretator used for maps creation? it was 1996 and I don't recall the exact names, but I'de spent weeks of coding my levels for null-modem games with friend (it was f... great time!)

Sucks but devs already said there would be no player map editor for MWO. They have their reasons so Im cool with that.
