I am hoping a dev can shed some light as to whether or not JS is fully supported at this point in the game. As open beta moves closer Id like to know if I will be playing my first match of mwo with a JS or whether i will I will be forced to use kb mouse from the outset. I would like to use a JS from the get go. It would be a pita to have to learn two separate control schemes if JS support is being added at a later date.

IS Joystick a control option as of now?

They posted in the FAQ that they will be doing their best to support joysticks and flight systems. Whether this will be available right at the closed beta is unknown. I'm still thinking about joining the founders program to try it out. I really hope the joystick doesn't handicap players who want a more realistic set up, won't be too long before we find out. (if you join the closed beta).

If you don't mind manually poking around in config files trying out player suggestions to get your joystick working, then (as I understand it), joysticks sort of work at this time.

Running Logitech Extreme 3D Pro right now and it functions fine once it's programmed. However, I don't care for it that much and have ordered a new rig...Logitech Flight System G940 Force Feedback Joystick
I have a tech Wiz friend who will set up for me, I'll let you know how it works out.

Currently I have a g940 and im having problems with the throttle and i don't have the slightest idea how to fix it. What should be 100% thrust position keeps me stationary and i need to pull it closer to me to start going, oh and because of that i can't move backwards.
I'm bidding my time right now waiting to see if better support is implamented, but if nothing happens soon'ish im going to return it.

I have the same issue, seems like the throttle control is backwards / reversed. However, I think moving in reverse requires you to use the "invert throttle" function. This seems like the proper way to move backwards but I have no examples of vehicles that actually use this sort of control scheme.
How are you supposed to turn with single joystick and throttle? Is twisting your joystick the way a mech is supposed to turn? Do mechs have feed pedals that control turning instead?
I might redo my setup to control more like Steel Battalion where the left joystick controls turning, right joystick controls torso movement, and feet pedals control acceleration / throttle.

Please keep beta post's in the beta forums please.
It will most likely be fully supported around open beta.

And as I've posted in other threads... since the Devs have partner'd with Razer to make the Artemis controller... do you think they WON'T fully support joysticks??
