Cockpit View / Independent Gunning Q

Morning all, seriously looking forward to spending some dollars on this as I enjoyed the past MW series. However after watching some YouTube vids and general reading on the game, I see there is discussions on ‘controls’ but in the sense of, I will use a K/B n Mouse or a J/Stick n K/B combo.

My searching kept coming up with the same ‘control’ style threads but what I am trying to find is if this MW Online will be true to the older styles MW games I played where you could look right or left in the cockpit and fire the right or left arm gun at what you were looking at.
The current vids I saw were all forwards facing and torso twisting but the ability to look R/L and flick a shot off with a gun is faster than waiting for a torso to twist IMHO. Plus when the first MW games were out, you could do this, then Micropose changed to Microsoft and somewhere this function lost out a bit to the point where it was a look but don’t shoot or a look but you cant move the arm of the gun just try to line your torso midsection up to shoot the target while running in another tangent.

Anyone have any feedback on the cockpit and ability to look and control left n right hands / targets like the older style games before MS ?

Cheers

Syks

it would be nice to be able to look around and then have arms and torso weapon systems catch up. with individual weapons system areas catching up to the main targetting icon, as those systems rotate.

Will be interesting to see how this is implemented; Weapon(s) installed in the right arm and a scout 'Mech trying to circle around coming in on the right. Will we be able to get a shot off with only the right arm weapons while turning/torso twisting to bring the rest of the arsenal to bear?

Having the arm on the side you're turning to track a target better than the torso and far arm would be pretty sweet. It'd give faster mechs a few things to think about when flanking if they know you've got medium lasers on one arm but a AC20 on the other.

It was nice in older games yes, but they've stated they want to support controllers, and peripherals as much as they can (or have the will to). Since this type of aiming system is just a giant middle finger to the ones who use these devices, im not sure how itll work out. Another fact would be PGE's desire to tone down circling and and such with slower aiming/less extreme angles.

Edit:

This could be an exception for the poor ******** like blackhawk/cauldron born (non rotating torso, and yes i prefer these names)

If you look at Hunchys cockpit picture, you will see on the right and left some kind of virtual "mirrors" or better to say windows to the side ...
So I guess by looking left or right you will be able to see stuff on your side hopefully with ability to use arm weapons.

For people who is interested in building own cockpit (I quote myself):

If multiple screens will be possible I would like to built my own cockpit. I would prefer an option for deactivation of 3D cockpit. So playing only with the HUD.
I would buy then something similar to G13 from logitech and use two parallel keyboards, one for input (text) and one spread around the cockpit as buttons for hotkeys (override, battlegrid, stuff etc.).
The feeling being in a dark mech cockpit is amazing! It is something similar to sensory deprivation tank, yeah ! :D
