It's not planned for now, especially as the team is working on rebalancing the game towards canon values.
If the teams gets a few extra coders everything would be faster of course, with a lot of luck and time it could become a nice RTS counterpart to MWO...

Kind of hoping the commander role plays like a commander in MC to be honest.. that would be cool. A RTS game in which real people controlling what used to be NPCs to do your bidding.. :D

I think that would be cool and lesdestracting than trying to do it on the field in a mech

May have to be in a mech.. but you could hang back, in either an Awesome or Atlas or Diashi and hide in plain sight.. or a Raven and direct from behind a wall.. BUt given the commander will ahve commander skills and modules I kind of hope to see those modules look similar to MC2.

4 weekends until we MAY see what it will all look like though :D

All of the early games are available for FREE! at Abandonia.com - Crescent Hawks 1 and 2, as well as the original Mechwarrior. These will require the program DosBox, which can also be found at Abandonia - HERE

If you register on their forums, you get access to the ISO Cellar. Here you can find Mechwarrior 2 Mercenaries and it's variants.

The Mechwarrior 2 Mercenaries I've uploaded includes the DOS install, which is the only one that works in XP. If you attempt to install this game, please follow these instructions:

1. Download the .IMG and burn it to a cd as an image, not a data disc.

2. Using DosBox(refer to help pages on Abandonia) to mount the cd, run the DOS installation from the DosBox command prompt. Do not install the windows version, unless you love getting frustrated. Use the biggest installation size. Unfortunately, you have to install the game in C:\MERCS.

3. Set the compatability for MERCS.EXE to win95. With the cd in the drive, run mercs.exe straight from windows. You do NOT need to run the game in DosBox, but you DO need to install it with DosBox.

4. Do a little dance, you're one of the elite now.

If anyone wants more specific installation info, feel free to send me a private message - but check the solutions in the Abandonia Forums first.

Front Mission Evolved is horrible, nothing like Mechwarrior, and not free. Not sure how it applies to this thread.

Gah, invest $10 (or LESS!) whenever Steam has Crysis Warhead available at that price, download and install Crysis Wars (which comes included with Crysis wars) and play a game (on the crytek2 engine) that will give you an indication whether your computer is up to the task of playing MW:O (which will be running on the Crytek3 engine - which is less demanding I hear)).

To the op, if you like MW2 try finding a iso of the 3dfx ver. Better looks and the hit boxes and weapons stats are the same as dos. if you don't what the possible problems that come with it go with titaium. as for MW3, good luck trying to run it properly.

True that, but if you're really desperate.
