I am a long time fan of Mechwarrior, and signed up for this beta like...months ago...
Im prettysure i did not receive any keys due to the PENDING status?

Am i doing something wrong? Do i need to accomplish some goal or something to receive one?

Anyway, just wondering if they have stopped giving them out! Would really like to get in on this.

They've given out several thousand beta keys, but there's somewhere around a hundred thousand applicants. The only way you're likely to get into the beta is to buy a founders package or wait till it goes open beta later this year.

Beta users were chosen at random. Doesn't matter how long you waited. Random is random.

Then they invited everyone who bought a Founder pack. Check the Buy Now link, buying a pack gives you instant access.

More invites for non-paying players have not been announced. Open beta is not until later in the summer.

My question to you is that , IF U R a long time "FAN" of mechwarrior i dont see y cant u spend afew dollars for the founders Program.

some people simply don't have money to spare, I know i sure don't despite absolutely loving Mechwarrior. If I had the dough, I'd drop it in an instant on a founders. But I have other expenses, important ones. From the sound of it, this person isn't much different. And yes, 30$ is quite a lot when you have no extra money.

Now, before anyone gets mad at me, I'm not complaining that I did not get a founders, I understand and respect why the devs did it the way they did. And I know that I'm frankly not entitled to a thing. No, what I am mad about is assuming someone isn't a fan of Mechwarrior just because they have to keep their wallet closed, It just isn't right to assume things like that.

if you dont have an 8 month - 1 year emergency fund (the amount of money to live off for the next 8 months to 1 year) then you cant afford anything, esp college.

over half of all college grads cant get jobs that can pay their student loans back right now. so you might as well get that job and hold off on college till you can afford it without loans.

and for god sake get a degree thats worth something, if "arts" is in the name, itll never pay for itself, ever.

Actually, im going Associates of science, Network administration and IT field. (Also considering staying in for Bachelors of the same, as well as getting my A+,Net+, Sec+ and Ultimate goal a CISSP

The job succession rate here for that field is 88%. so i wont be worried.

Also the school i have chosen gives 6months to begin paying back (AFTER) a job is found.
If a job is not found upon leaving, they will simply have to wait.


And for the guy trying to tell me im not a fan?
Just because i can barely afford to put food in my cabinet, gas in my car, or pay bills... Doesnt mean i am NOT a fan of Mechwarrior.
I dont mind waiting a little longer if i have to, MWO is free so i dont have to worry about paying for it at all.

And no offense? but judging by the way you responded to me? Im assuming your Mother/Father pay for everything for you. oneday, you will understand.
3 Engagements, 7 jobs, 6 states, and 1 jail sentence later, you will understand......at least i know i did. Especially because i managed to screw my life up and get back on track in such a short period of time
