Who would be willing to devote time to running a training facility for mechwarriors?

It would mean having them faction specific with another for mercs or lone wolves but it would be a good way of earning C bills while running the kind of mechwarrior training that the Dragoons and the Successors states did in canon.

Sun Zhang, NAIS, The Nagelring, all of them could be player run and operated OR Merc units could form with the intent of providing training environments.

It would mean having the ability to run 'simulations' so that peoples mechs weren't always getting totalled.

Thoughts?

Me likes this idea...

If you run a Merc Corps you should have the option of running a small training facility and then be able to upgrade it as you get more recruits and earn more C-bils with trainings and missions.

Darn right. We've got a number of academies in the Federation of Skye alone. Sanglamore, Class of 3045 for meself. Best academy in the 'Sphere, hands-down.

In other words, I fully support this idea, and I wouldn't mind helping out the new recruits, though with the sheer numbers we're hoping for, an automated "training mode" should probably be created, like you see in the other MechWarrior games, or even Valve's Team Fortress 2, giving new players an idea about what each "class's" role would be on the battlefield, rather than have them going all "lolz, get the biggest robot so we can pwn dem, a durr hurrr!"

Sure, we'll have that anyway, but it'll be target practice for most of us. Just as long as said "Lone Wolves" don't get assigned to my unit by default. >.<

would actually be intresting to be able to create your mechwarriors skills in diffrent areas, i do no mean to build your character up like you do in DD style but more to the technical training side of it. like if you leaning towards electronics and so forth.

The idea would be once a mechwarrior gets started or a small unit forms they come to the 'mechwarrior finishing school' for advanced training. I am sure merc units will use it as a recruiting tool and why not?

I'd say you'd make a ton of C bills mucho quick if you got a reputation for good results and solid training.

I just wrote the same yesterday in the german section. So I would say, we hit a critical point.
I would like to train my skills before I go into unknown battles.
The next question is, do we need tech or astech support for repairs, if possible crafts, etc.?
