Michael McCann and his Deus Ex Human Revolution OST.

And the best in the end: Bill Brown and his epic USA Theme for C&C Generals.

Well, I've liked Klepacki since I first played C&C. Of course Hell March is always great, this is another favorite:

Other than composers, there's also some good video game bands that I like, such as Crush 40. (Sometimes I just need a good, arcady break from blowing a 'Mech's arms off...)

I just learned that Jeremy Soule composed the soundtrack to the harry potter games. Now I have even more respect for him.

You finally see the light! :D

Jeremy Soule carried me with his music for my whole life... and I didn't notice until Guild Wars.

Harry Potter 1&2, Dungeon Siege, Spring, Morrowind, Impossible Creatures, Dawn of War, Guild Wars, Company of Heroes, IL-2 Sturmovik all games I played and loved (Harry Potters being my first ever exposure to the whole Harry Pottter universe as around 4-5 year old boy and thus scoring above them).

Put a sample of music there... your own choice of the best.

I'm 75% sure it'll be one of the town screen themes from HoMM 3.

i loved homm3, but the 2 is , to me, superior is different ways. 1 unarguable point, however, is the soundtrack.

What a brilliant thread - I'm quite a fan of game soundtracks and you've given me some food for thought - there shall be a prolonged visit to Youtube at some point later today ;)

Perhaps one of my favourite single tracks was this old chestunt....sung by Vangie Gunn

I levelled a Blood Elf Paladin only to hear this in game.

about Mr Frank Klepacki? Worked for Westwood, back when they ruled the world?

His re-visitation of the Blade Runner original soundtrack is nothing short of stunning, for what is a stunning game.

and how to forget his work on the c&c series:

Adridos I hate you! Last one, last one...

In jrpgs to me Nobuo Uematsu's "Lost Odissey" soundtrack is unrivalled, still gives me chills.

Mason B. Fisher and his music to Age Of Wonders 2. He also did Gal Civ 2 for example.

On behalf of my brother (since he drives me crazy always asking to put it here), I'll post a soundtrack from Bastion.
It was compsed by Darren Korb, enjoy.

P.S. As a matter of fact, if you remember the old Gamespot, you must know Greg Kasavin. Once he was done with C&C 3 he took people from the EALA and they funded the studio. One game and it's far above anything any other studio ever made... I'm not joking.

Hanz Zimmer. Because hey, he's the best.

I actively hate Call of Duty (I enjoyed 4 somewhat) and majority of its community, but it does have some pretty damn good music. I loved this one in particular.

Danny Baranowsky writes some great "old-school" style stuff.

All these are good, but I will also put my vote to Jeremy Soule. Also Michael McCann, for his amazing DXHR work.

Well, Call of Duty 1 and 2 were really good and even 4 was a good idea. Only after that did the complete trash begin...

Post some of either's works. Jeremy Soule made many perfect music samples, alll very different in styles but fitting the game/ situation in the game. For instance, you could post some of his SupCom soundtrack for SCI-FI action, or Impossible Creatures one for some steampunk.

Apologies!!
Though I love his Skyrim music, this is what impressed me about him when I first got to know him. His TA music is fantastic too.

McCann's efforts are really immersive. Playing a game like DXHR with this playing is just so good.

I hope that worked right, embedding those... EDIT - yeah not working for me. Are the links ok?

No video on the forum itself, but links work just fine.
