Could just be me. Why do most Clan mechs look like a stiff wind could knock them over?
I mean, c'mon. The only Clan mech i want is technically the Royal Regiments of the SLDF Atlas-II

Consider how advanced alloys and building materials would be after several hundred years of independent development?
They can be more spindly and maneuverable, without the bulk required for strength of previous materials. Use our current real world timeline for instance: Carbon Boron Steel is 3 to 4 times as strong as the steel being manufactured 100 years ago. Now look at the timeline between the exodus and the invasion.

What is it and why do the people of the IS like it/hate it so much?

When the Inner Sphere first saw the Timberwolf, they shat their pants. They couldn't believe that a 75 ton mech can have the speed of a Inner Sphere medium mech, the firepower of an Inner Sphere assault mech (of that time), and the armor of a heavy mech. It represented the technologic superority of the Clans compared to the Inner Sphere.

I love the Madcat,

Sure there are mechs that are better, but thats not the issue. It's what do you think is cool and fun to play as, this is not real life this is a game. I have to laugh at all the haters foaming at their mouths from the mention of Madcat.

I'm a mechwarrior 3 and mech commander gamer since I was 13. I always loved the Madcat. I remember one time outside an arcade in Perth I saw a 3 meter tall statue of the Madcat, it just looked awesome with a nobility too it. From the mech commander game I always loved the clan tech and fighting the clan enemy. Was always cool encountering the Madcat, especially if got to salvage it. Mechwarrior 3 was awesome too, probably gamed over 500 hours of that game.

I love the style of the Madcat, it just looks menacing. As far as the speccs go and what the speccs are going to be once we finally get our hands on this mech I don't give a ****, I just want it.

Haters gonna hate, all I say is deal with it :)

That's what they call the Timber Wolves that blow up IS Mechs. So yeah, that's why they don't like them, I think.

Even though the name is debatable, Mad Cat was one of the main mechs in MechWarriors. So don't you think they should add her? She was really good too.

It's the term that the IS dogs coined the Timber Wolf, thinking it looked like an odd amalgamation of a Catapult and a Marauder.

I am saving my money for a Madcat. It's easily, my favorite mech ever. The speed, weapons and load capacity are probably the best reasons why it's iconic. It's not unbeatable, but it's certainly one of the best mechs to have.

SO GIVE US A MAD CAT.

I usually had a helluva time salvaging it. I would try the same thing with y other mechs running as a distraction. Usually I was picked apart, one by one. One time, I finally got a headshot, but for some reason the engine still blew. Finally I got frustrated and dropped a large artillery strike on itx and managed to headshot it and lose only one clan ER PPC.

As shown above, the MadCat is a very dangerous looking mech. It is capable of great destruction before being destroyed.

i will have great joy headshotting the thing. you thought catapults were easy to headshot? the entire upper half of the mad cat's nose is the cockpit.
