Yeah, one of the first things I'm going to do is kill everyone I recognise off the forum.

I can totally see that happen...

*gets out crystal ball*

Nerts entering battle and ends up as a "filler" player for a capellan team.

Nerts: Hey, I know you, you are that troll from the forums!

*shoots off the 4 lasers of his Jenner into the front of a capellan Cataphract Mech*

Capellan pilot: Hey, that tickled!

Nerts: Damn, once I'm not longer a hair's width from shutdown I'll finish you off!

Capellan team leader: You just fired on a loyal citizen of the capellan confederation, subhuman scum! We hereby sentence you to appropriate punishment! Company, open fire!

*cutscene as the whole rest of the team opens fire on Nerts' Mech and turns it into superheated plasma*

I'd imagine everyone is going to be gunning for the devs too.

There are few types of people who you want to make a conscious effort to not get on their bad side.

Cops
The people who handle your food
The people responsible for the game you have been waiting a decade to see.

Not neccessarily in that order (I mean, once you relax a strip search isn't THAT bad).

Not to **** them off, it's just serious bragging rights to take out one of the guys who made the game on your first day playing.

It is a serious thred! about having a mech /dance off with our PPCs touching. n__n

Really though, the core idea of haivng the devs get a shot at pay back and each of us getting a shot at settling bravado issues from the forums would be a sweet comunity enhancing experince.

The thing is, will the Devs be the best players from the start? Doubtful (no offence Devs).

They spend all day working on their little portion of the system, I'm sure they love seeing what they've been building come together, but I doubt that they can't wait to go home and relax with more work.

Ask any gardiner or contractor who does that work at home lol. I've been there. You do something all day at work, you don't want to even look at it when you get home.

The play testers however. . . .

True... No need for it to be exactly on the same day as launch.

Whether they are good or not on launch.. well.. if you are going to be 'good' at launch I think is as questonable as to ask if the Dev's will be. They have had more time in the game then any of us by the time launch hits. Some of them do play tests for fun, im sure (Paul), while others do it to make other devs mad (Russ) and others still yet do it for acutal work purposes (Bryan).

But making a game is nothing like guardening... and these guys are not just signed up to make a game, they signed on to addopt us as a comunity. They made that choice when they swiched from making a Xbox tittle to a PC MMO that is to have content updates from now untill they decided we are all unwanted redheads and they boot us to the curb.

So like it or not, All of us fans have a new daddy, and his name is PGI.

See.. now what you guys are missing is that Dave B and I are planning where the weak spots are on a BattleMech. We know the numbers... we know the damage model. The only thing you guys should be concerned about is saving every C-Bill you can get for repairs! ;)
