As far as my knowledge no current game is doing this, and I believe it really should. You should earn bonus XP based on what mech you're using and how you use it.

Examples:
Light/Mediums Should get Bonus Points based on how many Mechs it spotted through the match.

Heavy/Assaults should recieve bonus points for hits recieved and hits delt per match.

I'm sure this idea could be expanded upon. I'd just like to see a reward for people who are doing their job even if their team is the equivalent of a wet noodle. Maybe before battle the commander(s) will have access to a drop down menu to assign Jobs/Objectives/Waypoints/ect. to each person/lance/weightclasses.

You could even expand this idea out to include a variety of things...

Assist kills (You drop a NARC beacon on an Atlas while your friend in a Longbow hammers it with LRMs)
Successful ambushes (though how you'd actually have the server register these is questionable)
Following the LC's orders (i.e. if the LC designates you to go to X,Y coordinates, you actually do... though this could be abused, I think)
Solo Kills
Time spent alive & actively engaging targets
Total Damage dealt to enemy
... my brain's fogging up or I'd have more, but you get the picture.

I dig this idea.

Light Mech: Spotting
Medium Mech: Harrass (Amount of targets hit)
Heavy Mech: Support (Kill Assists)
Assault: Dmg Delt/Dmg Absorbed

Also... You shouldn't get XP per kill... You should get it based off the percentage delt. I really hate when you do 90% to someone and then some little punk swoops in and kills your target and you get the shaft.

This would be great if the commander could literally give you waypoints on the fly in-battle. And you can recieve a bonus XP or Bonus C-Bills or something to completing it. This would however, open up for abuse. He could give all his friends all the waypoints. Maybe it could be a one time bonus per round (completing a waypoint). This way the Lonewolf will at least follow one command, even if it's into the lions den.
