Wouldn't it be nice if the people over at GOG.com (Good Old Games) were to give it an overhaul, make it a bit prettier and most importantly get it running on modern systems with proper joystick support?
Well they have a wanted list with games added by users and a top 10 that is voted by users. Unfortunaltly there are multiple entries for MW2 (Titanium, Pentium, Mercs, GB etc.) so they are no where near the top 10 despite having a combined score that would put them there and therefore closer to being chosen for an update.
So if you would like to play MW2 with slightlier prettier gaphics and a joystick with Vista or Win7
then go to http://www.gog.com/en/wanted type Mechwarrior in search window and vote for all of them.
Gog.com are a group that overhaul classic games to work on modern systems and then sell them for around $5.99 (some newer games $9.99). It is all legal and above board. You have to register but it is quick and easy.
