Of course there are many eager fans to get back into the mech action after years of waiting... but unfortunately, the new interest hasnt brought enough fans back to the old games in the meantime. Usually about... 1-3 ppl on MW 4. MWLL has had a hike in players recently, but I am not a huge fan of it (despite the pretty graphics engine, there is a lot of imbalance in the game, as the heavier/longer range weapons are vastly superior, and for short range the AC20 is brutal but the other weapons are terrible).

Anyways, for those who might want to jump back into the action and get some practice in before MWO is available, the links are below. If anyone has teamspeak/etc/servers going, feel free to post the info below.

MW: 4 Free Release (note: some of the mirrors (like MTX dloader) will install a pixely version of the game that gets 5 frames per second on a PC rig that runs 64 player BF3 at 90 frames per second. note: uTorrent has had rumors of the latest version including adware; I found qbittorrent to be a better alternative that didnt have the adware (adware included browser toolbars, etc)

While waiting for washer to stop, check MWO forums and post "What to do while waiting for MWO".

When not viewing MWO forum: Check Neveron empires for completed research, AI RP rewards and load new mech into the FFA and hope AI gets lucky or ********** by other mechs on AI.

Just wanting the information to be easy for people to access. Been playing MW4 again and its been a lot of nostalgia. Id play some MW3 too but too many issues with my 64bit system.

you can purchase Crysis Warhead for ten bucks on amazon, downloads are a bit more expensive though (Crysis Maximum includes Warhead)

I've been out of MMOs since I left LOTRO about 6 months ago and this is the game Im looking to play. I used to play TT back in the 90s and played a bit of the PC and Console games since then.

I tried to get MW4 to play on my current PC but I think it does not like 64bit or something it just keeps restarting on me.

So yeah…….. /pound face on desk

I'd like to play through MW3+PM again as well, but there are too many hurdles to get that working properly as you said. MechCommander was my first exposure to the BattleTech universe, so I think now is as good of a time as any to run through it again.

The mechpacks have some issues for the original, but beyond that it should work. Try the link I posted above, and that WILL work - the only issue I had was I had to include "/gosNoVideo" in the properties of the shortcut. (So, right click shortcut, go to properties, at the end, insert "/gosNoVideo" so it looks like ["C:\Program Files (x86)\mektek.net\Mechwarrior Mercenaries - Mektek Mekpak\MW4Mercs.exe" /gosNoVideo])

Its a codec issue or something with newer video cards.
